Obviously not the manager of the club, but anyone else going and perhaps could relay back some gossip.

On a serious note, I've been to two of these awards night. The first one was brilliant, the second not so good. The first was after our first season in the Prem and it was at The Brit. Tickets weren't exactly cheap but they were affordable and well worth the outlay. All the fans, players and management in the same room and you were able to mingle, chat to everyone, get pictures etc. Since then, like everything else since we got promoted, its become all about the money. Its at King's Hall and you have to pay hundreds, if not thousands, for the best seats in the maim lobby (probably mostly taken up by Corporate or Sponsors) and all the affordable tickets are in the balcony overlooking everything. It wouldn't be too bad if you were allowed access to the main area in between breaks or at the end of the night so you have chance to meet the players. They have bouncers on the doors though and you're treated like a pauper with the plague if you haven't got the correct colour pass. Momo would have a right rant at Scholes if he got wind of it

Hopefully the website will be doing a 'live text commentary' of the evening again. They have done for the past few years

After the players sour faced lap of honour and WD's post I've decided to leave it.

Said this on another similar thread that the club should erect an enormous marquee at the Brit and put food on via BBQs with a couple of drinks and make it free for season ticket holders as a massive thank you for the support and sacrifices they have made over the season. Players could mingle and the award ceremony would be a brilliant affair and everybody would be happy.

Both times I've been Pulis couldn't get out of there quick enough.

That's a superb idea - mention it to Ange1 and ask her to raise it at the Supporters' Council to consider for next year. I'm sure that a marquee of the right size and the right internal layout would enable corporate guests paying big money to be accommodated alongside fans in the cheaper seats and still give everyone the chance to mingle with the players.

If you think the players want to 'mingle' with the fans then you're vastly mistaken. That's not to say they detest the fans, far from it however the last thing they want to do is spends hours watching their p's & q's as they engage in small talk. It just isn't goer.

Huge marquee right in front of the Q-Railing, covering and using 2 blocks of the lower tier as seating for the paupers and allowing people to duck into the concourse for food and drink. The posh tables then on the pitch in front of the stage. Not sure they make tents that big but fuck it, sounds like a good idea to me!

It worked first year up. It might not be their favourite thing in the world but most fans are quite sensible. It's not like they tail the players all night, constantly nagging etc. It's normally just a quick hello, pleasantries and maybe a quick photo and most fans go home happy. It's not a lot to give back, given how much time and money we put into the club.

Huth & Delap for instance would breeze it and would probably have people hanging off their every word, most would just want to get out of there as quickly as possible.

apparently, some of the awards up for grabs are:
1 - longest hoof upfield; 2 - most accurate sideways pass; 3 - most accurate backwards pass; 4 - most passes straight into touch; 5 - most bench splinters in arse; and 6 - least touches to control the ball.

There's only really Begovic who deserves an award and he'll probably be gone soon :-(

Shows his contempt for the support, no wonder he gets it back in spades.
