Just back from a short break in Dubrovnik where by chance the taxi driver from the airport overheard me telling Mrs KB that the "Split" sign we saw was where the club we played in the Europa a couple of seasons back was........he said "Stoke City ????" and thus started a great footy exchange - indeed, he had come 1500 miles to Stoke with his mates in a minibus and told us what a great time they had had etc etc. Naturally I booked him for the return and sent a txt to confirm (after the Sunderland match!), whereby he said (with a smiley) if I was interested I could come to Split with him & his pals the following night to watch Hajduk play Lokomotiva in the 1st leg of their domestic cup final !!
Anyhow, on the way back to the airport he gave me a copy of their 100th Anniversary celebrations DVD in Dubrovnik which I would love to share but not sure how to........in essence, the whole City was closed down to allow a massive parade of the "Torcida" into the old town, and being blessed by the local Bishop and then after nightfall the whole perimeter of the City walls lit up with hundreds of those red flares......and bear in mind this is 250 miles from Split so like our Southern Supporters Club....!!! The passion is breath-taking..........
So, to my point - I cannot help thinking that whilst the Club are obviously making an effort (and credit to them for this) the City as a whole is not really engaged in the way in which it (arguably) should be considering we are the oldest club in the Prem etc etc.....
Just a thought!!!
We need some flares and massive f*ck off flags......!!! ;-)

A bloke told me Friday that the club feared by having a friendly they wouldn't sell over 15k tickets
By doing it our last home game they were guaranteed a sell out

.... and there is (according to rumours) going to be a huge float of the titanic and an iceberg. The London Olympics opening ceremony is going to have nothing on this ...

Now you're talking - a Frank Bough float, 60ft effigies of Anthea Turner & Bruno Brookes - and maybe a Lemmy & Slash jam at the Gardners..... !!!

Could the club possibly have done less is a more pertinent question.

Could the club possibly have done less is a more pertinent question. Well said momo they've even done less than there is on a tony pulis tactics board.
