Noddy and Bigears by Enid Blyton
An ironic and searing indictment of post-war society's attitudes to physical impairment.

I'm reading Phil Tuffnell's autobiography. How that man became a professional sportsman is truly amazing. Pure talent I guess. He wouldn't stand a chance in the modern era with his attitude to training, toking, and boozing. Highly amusing.

Diary of a Rock n Roll Star. Penned by Mott the Hoople front man Ian Hunter. He wrote this book in diary form on their American tour during November and December 1972. Acknowledge for many years as a classic, I'm finding it laugh out loud funny and it's genuine wormhole into a rock bands life. Get it from Amazon, cheap as chips. Highly recommended.

JFK: Why he died and why it matters. Basically it's about why the CIA had Kennedy assassinated.
Also started to read 'The Shining'. Being a Stephan King fan, his next book is about the the boy from the shining in adult life and what the consequences of that episode are on him.

Not read either of them....
I was reading massimo manfredi roman novels (I'm a Greco-Roman classical history geek) before I found Scarrow! Iggulddon seems to be too wide ranging in his writing rather than a true scholar! Perhaps I'm wrong and should bite the bullet?

If not I reccomend them .....similar to Igguldden Very similar tastes to me mate. Harry Sidebottom does some excellent stuff and I love anything by Bernard Cornwell, even though he tends to concentrate on Ancient Britain to Azincourt. In fact, I love this genre so much I decided to start an OU course in Classical History! I highly reccommend and you get to meet/ chat to some very intelligent and intresting people. Back to the original question- reading 'The man who broke into Aushwitz'. Harrowing and simply told without the flowry language that would be used today.
