Where would you rank Begovic in the world for best keepers? I think he's absolutely outstanding even at Barcelona he would do a great job.

I'd do a better job than that clown Valdes.

I'd do a better job than that clown Valdes. Lol, but honestly I mean Begovic surely must be up there with Neur, Casillas, Lopez

At Barcelona, he wouldn't have to do a great job.

The only thing stopping Barcelona wanting Begovic would be his kicking and passing. They play with a sweeper 'keeper and it's vital to how they play. I think they'd be more inclined to go for De Gea or Vorm.
I think he's been the best 'keeper in the league this season though.

Possibly the finest shot stopper, reaction man in the Prem. Whether it's under instruction or not I reckon his distribution and out-ball decision making often leaves me scratching my head. Nit picking I suppose. When we survive it'll be his consistancy that has been vital. I wouldn't want to swap him for anyone, though £15mil would soften the blow. Sorro and Butland will still be a formidable stopping pair. I was very impressed with Brad Guzan's {Villa} command of his area. Joe Hart is more susceptible to howlers, De Gea just howls...

His kicking let's him down big time when he's under pressure. His shot stopping is very good though

Perfect for the kind of club that is building slowly for the future, a club that would benefit from a new solid keeper, one that has a chance of silverware and the money to spend on him.
Liverpool I reckon, Reina hasn't been great for them for a while.

Nope... I'm with Jamo on this one! Still confused... Ok words of one syllable So far so good? Begovic's saves have stopped the opposition from scoring anything between 15-20 goals this season. We'd need Crouch, Kenwyne, SJW et al to to have scored a similar number to remain in a neutral position. Rather unlikely methinks

Brilliant for a mid-table Premier League team, but still not the finished article with his kicking and verbal presence.
Bego's next aim has to be to dominate penalty areas so well that his teams won't go through the kind of confidence crisis Stoke have been through in the past couple of months. A Peter Schmeichel or even Tommy Sorensen or Mark Crossley type reassuring presence, in addition to his fine all-round save making.

I can't think of too many goals we've conceded from Bego flapping at crosses or hesitating to come for the ball. Although keepers are obviously important, I think you may be overstating there influence if you think our lack of confidence has anything to do with our goalkeeper. Begovic is responsible for his penalty area, and the defence. Although our defence has struggled to meet the high standards they set for themselves at the start of the season, our confidence issues have been when we've been going forward and when we've got the ball.

I didn't mean that he flaps - he doesn't. But I'd argue our defence has been very poor by anyone's standards since Christmas (QPR clean sheet notwithstanding). At various times we've needed a leader to kick people up the backside, but Bego (like Ryan and Huth) has been quiet. It might seem harsh to criticise, but if we wants to be world class, for me, that's an area he can improve.

The only thing missing from Begovic's game is the character and personality that those players had/have. During his early years with us, Sorenson was an outstanding personality and that is massive for a goalkeeper. Asmir has been better in that regard and has improved massively in that respect from last season. Asmir should be voted our unanimous player of the season, even if only to add a couple of extra million to his price tag!

As said, brilliant keeper for Stoke, but not the finished article. He'd struggle at a top team i think right now, much like De Gea did last year at Man United. I'd put him just below the top bracket personally alongside Hart and Mignolet.

I definitely wouldn't be adverse to some sort of deal with Liverpool involving Carroll coming here. No idea how realistic that is though.
