When you are in this kind of mess you need someone who is willing to stand up and have a go.
All week Charlie has been speaking in the local media asking for unity and calm.
On the pitch v Utd he was the only player willing to have a go and looking likely to create something for us.
We need a natural leader and I think Charlie is stepping up. If we need something to grasp, someone to lift the spirits and raise morale, I think Charlie could be our man to get behind.
If the players feel the same we could still fight our way out of this.
But we have to pick a relegation fighting squad. Whitehead for nzonzi for instance.
It can still be done.

Nzonzi hasn't got a fight mate. That's more so where I was coming from.

You were speaking sense until you mentioned Whitehead... Ordinarily I'd agree, Nzonzi has far more qulaity than Whitehead, but recently he's started to look like he doesn't want to be on the pitch.

I agree,he seemed to be taking the bull by the horns against united but there never seemed to be anyone close enough for a killer pass ,due to the fact Pulis has no fucking idea how to utilise our squad.Adam should have been pulling the strings since his arrival.and alongside Nnonzi they would have made quite a pair of creative midfielders but its been a sad waste of talent.

If Adam is dropped on Saturday, I might start believing some of the insane conspiracy theories you get on this madhouse. He is our best hope of at some stage, getting that white round thing between those tall sticky things.

I don't think Ryan is captain material that is for sure. H Who is though in the Premier League era? For example if Ryan approached N'Zonzi about his attitude and told him to buck his ideas up, will he except it or throw a strop. I will say some real experienced players who could demand respect like Crouch and Owen probably don't show any real leadership.

Several people have said the same thing re Adam. including myself. Ryan needs a rest from the captaincy, at least for this season, so he can concentrate on his defensive duties. Things cant go on as they are, so therefore things need shaking up. Adam to be given the captaincy, and a KEY central midfield role, is one of the few ace cards that Pulis can play.

I'd agree, he looked a leader on Saturday and had he started games in the season dare I say he would probably be captain. He could be our saviour.

I agree with fatman re Adam. He is our best bet and is far more of a leader than any of the other shite in our squad.

We need Charlie on the pitch as he is one of our few creative players! I also think N'Zonzi has been very poor lately, at least with Deano you get passion and workrate!

Yes rossi, despite genuinely finding the majority of realistic candidates to replace him deeply uninspiring, I think its run it's course now. Even if we stay up, there is no way we should be looking at the massive rebuilding job that is now necessary and I think the owners are far more likely to give the new man funds to rebuild and those funds will be spent better under a new man.

Adam should be first name on team sheet... Although he is still partying in clubs midweek in Blackpool Imagine how good a fully fit and motivated Adam could be for us ??

Said this to my mate on Saturday and he thought I was on drugs. N'Zonzi is a far better player than Whitehead but his attitude isn't as good.

Whelan is the natural captain, adam is like thacther, for every one good (look at me, like a cheap gerard, I,am great) he does twenty crap no effort stuff, but I do think adam with a bit of guidance in the right set up may come good

He is as much a captain as jon walters is a winger. For me adam or for kicks nzonzi should be made captain that's the mess we are in...

Whelan the man that put it up to Faye at spurs for bad attitude and won, gets dropped and always comes back, when we play good he is always pivotal and YOU stokemanusa are as much as a sensible poster as adam is a captain

Charlie Adam could do the captaincy if he had the respect of the players. I don't believe he has it right now as he's not done enough through this season to warrant it. I would also say that's not necessarily his fault.
He's been played in all sorts of fucked up roles by the capped one & he's had the added tragedy of his old man passing away.
IMO, the man to galvanize our current squad is Huth. if nothing else, most players are most likely shit scared of upsetting him!

I like Adam! If he stays and is played in the correct position and given the freedom to do what he does best then I could see Adam becoming a proper Stokie legend, and yes I would give him the Captaincy too. Only if he decides to stay though!
Same goes for N'Zonzi too, but he's more of a technical player than Adam so, if I were manager, I'd also give him a tad more freedom on the pitch to show what he's really capable of.
