Who exactly would come in and keep us up if Pulis were to be sacked as everybody is so keen to get rid? I think we're at shit or bust stage now. Tone doesn't look capable of turning this round as it stands.

This must sound weird but I feel like crying for Tone if he is sacked - I want him gone n ow for the club's sake but I've loved him for a long time and he's given it everything. There's just a time everything ain't enough.

There's just a time everything ain't enough. After as much vitriol as i've chucked his way the last few weeks/months, I read that tweet and tears came in my eyes. I'm just so frustrated it's come to this. I know deep down how committed he is to this club but at the same time I think he's made so many mistakes that have helped to put us into this position.

Tone doesn't look capable of turning this round as it stands. I appreciate what you're saying, and maybe a new manager would give the players that boost that you sometimes see when a new manager comes in but that just seems a bit of a longshot to me right now with so few games to go; what managers are out there who would join us that could turn things around in such a short space of time. I still stand by that Pulis is the best manager to see us out of the situation we're in right now. Yes he's responsible for how we're playing at the moment, but he's also the bloke responsible for our form for the first half of the season. In January, then yes maybe I could see if people wanted to replace him if they were looking for a change of style so the new guy had half a chance of getting his own team together. But right now I just can't see changing managers doing any good; realistically who would come in?

The ideal situation is him keeping us up and walking away. He sounded in the radio stoke interview as though he's given up hope.

I agree I came away from todays match feeling totally dejected, frustrated, depressed - the best scenario now would be that we do stay up and that Puils steps down after the end of the season

I think well over 90% of Stoke fans, whether with heavy heart(like me) or jumping for joy, would like to see him gone. Gerry Francis to take over unless there is another better suggestion. Someone who'll play the right players in the right positions.

I was against the very idea of changing before today but we were so abject in so many aspects of the game that I just can't see us winning again this season. A new manger could do even worse and I'm not sure who would come now anyway. The best option would be for Tone to wake the fuck up, play some footballers and set us up to attack. That is crazy talk though.

I remember how much the Wolves fans droned on and on about how McCarthy should be sacked. And then he was.

We just need someone to revitalise the players...anyone, someone different to motivate the squad for us to scrape over the line.

In case we play worse than we have been you mean? Doesn't matter how bad we are playing having a manager sacked at a crucial time is bound to affect the players. End of the season is the right time Hopefully in a good way though. Slightly off topic, who is the bird in your avatar?

I remember how much the Wolves fans droned on and on about how McCarthy should be sacked. And then he was. The problem was who they replaced him with, that's all. The problem is it was too late and no sane manager would have taken the job. Atkins is at Reading to take them back up next season. Di Canio isn't sane.

Interesting that when asked in his interview if he can turn it around he didnt say yes did he? He basically just dismissed the question and started harping on about fans getting behind the team. Good on him if he has decided to walk away.
