TP: I think we have to get to our 40-point target and we have seven games to go. This isn't a season defining game for us. #SCFC
TP: If we can get to 40-points then I am convinced that will see us through. #SCFC
It's easy to manage and it's easy to live your life when things are going well, but when you are up against it you show what you are made of
TP: We just have to make sure that the players keep believing. They are the ones going out at the weekend to play. #SCFC
TP: It will be a sell-out this weekend, and we need our fans right behind us as much as ever. #SCFC
TP: I have managed this Club in a season defining game a few years ago - Reading - we are nowhere near that at the moment. #SCFC
TP: We could have scored 4 or 5 goals against Everton but we didn't. That has been the story of our season so far, which is disappointing.
TP: I like Paul Lambert. He is a smashing fella. As a manager I am sure that he has had a tough time, but he has handled it all really well
TP: The one thing that this run has brought home to everybody is that this league is relentless. It carries no favours to anybody.
TP: Take the top few teams out of it, but if the rest of us go on a bad run then you get sucked into trouble. It's a tough, tough league

"This isn't a season defining game for us" I picked up on that too. I suppose it isn't, in the aspect that there is still a 4 point gap between us and the bottom 3. The problem is, that completely ignores the fact that were bang out of form right now. Every team below us has probably picked up more points over the past dozen games. If we lose, we're in the sh*t, it's as simple as that. It is a BIG game.

The way I see it, if we win, we'll be fine. If we lose, with the three games to follow, we'll be in deep trouble.
PS. The latest quote from the conference will anger a few people on here ;D

I think it is a defining game, we're right in the brown stuff if we lose. If we win, that should just be enough. Then hopefully, we'll have a bit of confidence going into the next few.

"this isn't a season defining game for us"
WOW... the guy as lost it.
even if this isn't a season defining game him saying it isn't just shows his lack of passion to achieve.
News flash dickhead, EVERY game is a season deining game when you want to finish as high as possibe!. If our aim is to get into the top 10 which it should be by now then this is a massive massive game. instead all he is thinking about is scrapping through.
the guy's a loser and always will be

What plant is he from? Yes walters should of scored from 2 yard and shotton could of done better with his header, but 4 or 5?

A lot of talk about win or lose. How about a (likely) draw? How would people react? Still in danger of going down?

We would have done damn well to score 4 or 5 goals from the 3 chances that we had against Everton. Very well indeed.
Even Barcelona would struggle to score 4 or 5 goals from 3 chances.
TP is one hell of a guy. I can't help but love him! At least his press conferences make you smile more than the teams he puts out at weekends.

He has said nothing wrong as far as I can see? Shotton, Walters, Huth and Jerome should all have buried their chances at Everton.

Desperate talk from a desperate man! Still, pinning hopes on Ethie's glassback! Lose and unless a victory against The Tractor Boys kissin' cousins and we're toast!

He has said nothing wrong as far as I can see? Shotton, Walters, Huth and Jerome should all have buried their chances at Everton. He's opened his mouth, that is enough for some people to conclude that he's said something wrong. As ever a typical managers press conference repeated by 19 others individuals up and down the country at approximately the same time.

So you cant have 2 goals from it can you... and jerome tryed to but the ball in the top corner from a tight angle! "should of buried it"??!! i think you just like arguing for the sake of it. you would say stoke home strip was pink and white if you got some attention out of it.

Told you he was wank and even worse when he starts.
