Manslaughter because, although he started the fire... he hatched a plan to save the kids in the process and then be the hero & stitch his ex up and blame her.
What goes through peoples minds?

Should be both hanged. Also never see their other kids again. Despicable human beings.

Another case wrongly classed as manslaughter. Gotta love the British justice system.

They certainly are an evil pair of scumbags. Lets hope they are sorted out while behind bars.

Simply jaw-dropping to think that Mick Philpott went to jail in 1978 for stabbing his 17 year old girlfriend at the time 13 times and then her mother too nearly murdering both of them so you wonder what the fuck he was doing walking the streets after that

Apparently he had more kids just to improve the amount of benefits he got.... a very sad sign of the times and a damning indictment on the politicians who fashioned the system.
Even sadder to think that people like him enjoyed a certain level of status in their community.

Just lock him up and stab him once every hour until he dies. Simples

I think they will be sentenced to 10 years each and be out in 3 taking account time served good behaviour etc.
We will then fund a nice little secret identity so they live in comfort without fear of vigilantism.
If they make it through prison

If they make it through prison We are going to be paying for the idle waste of spaces in either case, so I'd rather my taxpaying money goes towards keeping them locked up where they deserve to be. AT least it will stop them breeding.

Philpott was in the army when he tried to ill his ex girlfriend, was that a damning indictment on our armed forces? Or was Harold Shipman a damning indictment on the NHS?

No, and No... what's your point ? are you suggesting a system where someone can actually make fathering loads of kids a career choice and claim 50k p.a. for doing so is a good idea ?

The two women actually worked, Philpott had their payments paid into his own bank account. He's a vile scum cunt. Making a connection between the welfare system & the deaths of these children is pathetic. Whatever his warped motive you can't take one fucked up case and apply it to a system that's saved millions of children from abject poverty. Again, are you suggesting a system where a GP can earn £70k+ to kill 100's of his own patients as a good idea? Same logic I'm afraid.

Philpott and the other bloke look identical to me on all the pictures I have seen It's very strange isn't it? Philpott had his wife gobble off the other bloke at one point after the fire according to a documentary I saw earlier in the week. Guess he was throwing that in to buy his silence! Truly grizzly stuff.

On a serious point Swansea (and I know it doesn't relate to this fire) but do you think it's a good idea for the taxpayer to stump up the tab for other peoples children after say the first two? I just sense it drives the wrong behaviour.

Besides, it pales into insignificance when you compare it to the billions £ worth of tax that big corporations avoid. They're generally ignored though, especially by the media. Hardly surprising when you consider who their mates are;

i see your point swansea but that cunt phillpot is a cunt of the highest order, it seems he started the fire in a pathetic attempt to save his children and be the hero, oh and get custody of his over kids so he could get another grand a month in benefit.i have seen today that his benefits amounted to over 50 grand per year. i wonder how many on here get that much? just remember that when your scraping off the ice on your car at 5 am to go to a dead end job paying less than 20k a year scumbags like phillpott are warm and cosy in bed

And again, the benefits were paid to the two women, he then stole the money. He set fire to the house in revenge for the woman taking the kids away, he was a nutter. Leave it to wankers like Osborne, the daily mail and IDS to make revolting falsehood about people on benefits mate.

He used to drive us to our away dart matches an he just came over as a bit of a 'jack the lad' at the time. He is one of these blokes who think the world owes him a living an if he didn't get what he thought he should get he would have more kids! My mate is Godfather to some of them poor kids and is devastated that Phillpot could even think of risking endangering a hair on their heads Phillpot is an evil bully who will do anything except get a job to attempt to support his massive brood! Very very sad for the loss of six innocent young lives, and a stain on the people of Derby.

Were you aware at the time he drove you to the darts matches that he had stabbed a 17 year old girl 13 times back in 1978 and as a consequence had already served time (not nearly enough) for attempted murder? Would have made me think twice before hopping in his car !!
