In his post match interview following the WBA game, Pulis mentioned luck with Walters deflected shot passing the wrong side of the post. But for the deflection it wouldn't have threatened goal at all. I thought it was a cross that got deflected towards the goal, still don't think Walters was actually shooting.

17 wank shots from miles out into row Z don't constitute genuine chances. rob, you've been banging on about wanting pace in the side for ages, you should have known it came with the touch of an elephant! I should have known it wouldn't be used properly.

Prem Just a minor point but "Just cant understand why we can't play 4-4-2, its proven to suit Pulis' style of play, for his tactics to work he needs 2 wingers". Which two wingers and please don't suggest Pennant. One of our major failings has been the demise of both Ethers and Pennant almost of the same period. You can't really say "dont suggest Pennant" because the reason he's been frozen out is Pulis's ridiculous grudge bearing again. The problem with him stems from going out before the Everton game - it should have been dealt with then. Instead he dropped him but brought him on with 15 minutes to go, alongside Fuller, whenever his rubbish tactics had dropped him in the shit. Its a classic Pulis problem of not being able to move on from any perceived slight, Pennant is still a Stoke player, you cant have the discussion without having Pennant as a suggestion. This has the knock on effect on bottlenecking all creativity through Ethers, who gets multi-marked and suprisingly his game hasnt thrived under these conditions. Who'd have thought it? He could be a more useful part of the team if he wasnt expected to bear so much weight.

All 'what ifs, buts and maybes' its pathetic really. You can hardly say we are established when you hear such bullshit like this every week. Id love to hear our manager and company to actually give an honest appraisal after a game, win or lose.

We are creating jack shit. It's nowt to do with luck, it's just down to being shit. Ethers has gone backwards & our right wing is a square peg in a round hole. This is the main reason we're creating nothing. Two good wingers & we'd be a decent side. As we score so few goals its very easy to go from winning 1-0 & drawing 0-0 away, to drawing at home & losing away. I've always worried about this since promotion, as we are treading a fine line & now its coming home to roost. With Pulis & useless idiot Kempy its like we're sleepwalking our way off a cliff. I'm now crapping it for this season & next. I can remember Birmingham, who did well 1 season winning by the odd goal & the next season they were gone. We are going have trouble attracting players. Creative players we need are going to look at Charlie Adam & Owen sitting on the bench & think that every attack minded player who have ever gone Stoke hasn't progressed & wait for another club to come calling. Who can blame them!!

Quote....The last two performances against Newcastle and West Brom have been pretty good, if we had got a break in either we could have taken the three points......Jesus,it's statements like this makes me believe there is no light at the end of the tunnel,is that what you and Pulis really think.....then you two are taking us down ....what kind of break were you looking for in those games.....something like their goalkeeper chucking it in his own net perhaps....i truly despair at this mentality coming from our so called management team, this kind of statement does nothing for the confidence of all of those who have renewed!!!!!!!!!!!! Good post pal, Kemp is basically a clone of Pulis and in my opinion the worst assistant we've had.

The thing is with the way we play you are always relying on luck or "something to drop." That's why its called percentage football. Put the ball into the mix often enough and sooner or later you'll get a chance, that's the theory. That's fine as long as it's not your main game, you need a bit of versatility, that's why the wingers are so important. For me Tone has got away with it at the top level because of three factors, firstly we had Rory Delap who pinned teams back with his sling shots, teams hadn't got a clue how to defend them.Secondly Ricardo Fuller he made shit hoofs into Glen Hoddle type passes with his ability and lastly we have had two very good wingers in JP and Ethers. IMHO Ethers is burnt out, knackered, you have to be super fit to play wide in a Pulis team and for me his legs have gone. JP is just JP, its een debated to death on here.
IMO Pulis has lost his way, can't evolve and hasn't got a clue on how to put it right. All this rubbish about luck is clutching at straws, if you play decent football you take luck out of the equation. This will only end up one way and it won't be pretty.

David Kemp - footballing pygmy.
He reminds me of Phil Neal when he was Taylor's assistant at England.... "do I not like that..." "...yes boss"
