Have to say i wasn't looking forward to a trip to Nottingham today with the Mrs but suprisingly i've enjoyed it No pressure of the match and no bag on on a Saturday night if we've lost and a much more relaxed me.What is football doing for middle aged blokes like myself?Do we need that buzz on a Saturday or is it just a habit that we can kick at anytime?Don't get me wrong i would never give up on Stoke City as i love the club to much but maybe i need to take the whole matchday a little less seriously in future. Just made me think how some of the folk who haven't renewed will go on once they realise no Stoke on a Saturday,Thoughts?

it's like playing sport...when you stop it's really hard to get back into.
Must admit, I quite like being in a good mood at 9pm on a Satbo night

It's the escapism thing for me mate. You go to work all week and the Saturday afternoon footy is something you look forward to and inevitably bank on to give you a lift before you get back to the grind again on Monday morning? My job isn't that grim and at my middle age I'm perfectly aware that supporting a football team is all about highs and lows, peaks and troughs. Trouble is, the stuff being served up at the moment is as flat as a kipper's dick?

Agree with that mate to a degree and for me its a chance to let off steam after a long week at work and hopefully enjoy whats on offer but like you say at the minute we're getting very little enjoyment.

People need to ask themselves what they want from matchday. A load of journeymen such as Walters who will run all game but with no quality, or more talent such as n'zonzi who are able to control and pass the ball? If it's the latter, you won't be getting that under Pulis.

I think a lot of the people who haven't renewed will find a big football shaped hole in their hearts when we kick off next season. I just hope they aren't fleeced to within an inch of their lives when they come back.

I cannot stand Stoke-free weekends. Nor me mate. It's why it's so uplifting when we're doing well?

I cannot stand Stoke-free weekends. I love the Close Season, a chance for mind, nerves and wallet to recuperate but weekends off during the season are pretty horrific. Those two early season International breaks, just after the season is up and running are purgatory. Designed by people who clearly don't like football.

Feels even worse now the international games are played on a Friday night rather than a Saturday, you don't even have the international itself to watch on what would have been match day

I've taken to knitting. Knit one, pearl one. It's far more exciting than watching Pulisball when one drops a stitch and has to fiddle about. Didn't we have a game this week? OS.

I would like to put it in another way, how is the feeling on a Saturday night after a Stoke win? To me those nights are simply the best! Unfortunately they haven't come too often lately!

I am actually relieved that there's a Stoke-free weekend. The last few 200 miles round trips to the Brit have been a bit of a chore TBH. I'm on holiday next week and will miss the Everton and Villa games. Normally I'd be pissed off about that and blaming the missus for booking holidays at Easter but, as it stands, it feels like escaping an obligation. Perhaps a break is what I need and I'll be raring to go for the United game.

Then I realised that I would follow the club whatever and the club would always be there, so I stopped getting as anxious on match days. Until this year
