Stoke would not appeal to Poyet / Martinez or any of the "passing" type continental managers. Nor are we ready for them and maybe never will be.
We need a manager who can get the team playing in a similar direct style but better. eg doing basic things well like accurate passing, good crossing and with more pace and mobility than we have shown this season.
I was hoping TP could do it but his ultra defensive approach and poor judgement of players in the transfer market has shown that it is doubtful he can.
We may limp through this season but we would not survive next season without an improvement in our goal scoring threat and I just can't see TP doing it.

I am ready for a 'passing/high technical ability/skilfull manager', be he english, continental, south american - and always will be. I hope there are many more of us who haven't been brainwashed into the 'lump it and chase it' school. The sooner we break free from the cage and all similar abominations, the sooner we can get back to enjoying games where we DON'T know beforehand exactly what skills and tactics/strategy will turn up. Oh for another Hudson to keep us on the edge of our seats - or even jumping out of them. |

I don't buy this 'we need a similar direct manager' stuff, the defence is solid, isn't going to change if TP goes, given some chances I'm sure our forwards can score goals, that just leaves the midfield to address and we have a start on that with N'Zonzi and possibly Adam.
