Beauty is not the goal of competitive sports, but high-level sports are a prime venue for the expression of human beauty. The relation is roughly that of courage to war. -- David Foster Wallace on Roger Federer.

To watch someone so talented perform at the peak of their powers is indeed a beautiful sight. Real sporting genius is a rare gift I'm thinking along the lines of Federer, O'sullivan, Higgins, Hudson, Best, Senna. When you look at that little list it stands out to me that they're not all the most dedicated or the best role models, they're individuals who are/were so naturally talented at their given sport that their ability can completely take your breath away. They provide the type of moments that make me love watching many sports, I think its something totally lost on Tony Pulis.
