does seem strange to ban someone because they did not fill there form in. do we have any insiders who could pinch the forms then they all get banned

I was looking forward to these ashes battles, but great as it is to see England win I don't want it to be one sided, those battles with Warne & McGrath & Gilcrist & the Waughs was brilliant stuff, we need more of that.

Brilliant it was but thank god that lot have retired ! ;D Trouble was, we only beat that lot once and that was 86/87? What a relentlessly good side they were for bloody years. Gilchrist batting 7 for Petes sake. Warne totally wiping us out with his bowling, and chipping in with the odd 80 or 90 with the bat. Matty Hayden was a big, arrogant bugger as well. Gooch made Alderman look like a world beater? McGrath seemed to get a wicket in his first over of every test? And when you finally managed to get past Ponting, there was the likes of Damien Martyn and Michael Clarke to follow? I hope it's as one sided as very one sided thing for years to come lads!

I wouldn't be too hasty thinking the Aussies will be a pushover. They have big issues in the batting department but in Starc (if fit), Siddle, Pattinson and McKay they have a pace attack that could cause us problems. There spinners are garbage though so seaming pitches that turn on days 4 and 5 should see us win the day..........

Siddle is a decent enough bowler, but we always seem to manage to make him look like a world beater? Did the same with Merv Hughes.

Saw him bowl well at Edgbaston once, but our batsman really do let big personalities get to them?

Clarke probably out with a bulging disk in his back, or severely limited on the field A swag of young fast bowlers forming an orderly queue at the meds office A wicket keeper having trouble holding catches A vice captain who is having severe role problems whilst placing his skipper under siege Not a decent spinner in the group - having to resort to an opening bat and the skipper to bolster the spinners. Cant name an all rounder since Watson decided he doesn't bowl anymore - unless Johnson makes another comeback. Forgetting that no, that cant happen, he doesn't bowl at all well on English wickets anyway. A SA coach who hasn't got a clue when handing Aus cricketers A selection panel under fire from Joe public Quite a list really. I cant see the Baggy Greens getting too much of a sniff back in Aus for the follow-up series, let alone in the UK. Might need a lot of rain to get a close result this time around.

Warner and Hughes are their top 3 you'd expect to have at least 2 of them out every time in the first hour, Watson might be good for a 25-40 before getting out, Clarke is a good batsman but the rest are shite, the wicketkeeper Wade is only playing as the preferred choice Paine has glass hands. As for the bowling Pattinson and Cummins are good but are so injury prone they will do well to get one on the pitch, Siddle, Starc, Johnson and Hilfancantbearsedtospellit are bog standard average should be expecting a 3-0 or 4-0 win at home.

I meant Cummins don't know why I put McKay? I still think we're prone to collapses too often and their seamers can hurt us if they're fit ad in form. You say Siddle is average but in fairness he has a better average than all of the England attack. I think we'll win the series don't get me wrong but all talk of a whitwash or thrashing is way too hasty..........

Saw him bowl well at Edgbaston once, but our batsman really do let big personalities get to them? One or two bowlers had that effect on Hick didn't they ? Robin Smith handled Hughes particularly well though

If they are that bad , there is not much point in them coming !......and to be fair the captain apart , they have looked pretty poor....but never underestimate them, we did that in ' 89 and got stuffed !

Siddle may have a better average but I doubt you'd find anyone I'm world cricket who would pick him ahead of Anderson, I think Broad and Finn are also better if Siddle was a footballer he'd be Jon Walters. I'm sticking with 3-0 or 4-0 I really don't see much in this Aussie team and when their coach has pretty much offered Hussey his place in the test team back even they know they're fucked.

I think the Siddle/Walters comparison is a good one mate. Anderson, Broad, Finn, Onions ,Tremlett (when fit ) all are a better bet than Siddle in my opinion ( but don't blame me if he gets 25 wickets in the series ! ) ;D

I agree mate. But we've never tended to be that great with bowlers who get in our faces? Siddle is your niggly, ginger tosser who makes the most of what he's got to work with? Anderson, Broad and Finn are all now class acts? Tremlett was ace in Australia last time round and I also really like Onions and Bresnan.

Bresnan would be a better bowler if he got closer in to the stumps.....he bowls far too wide on the crease , especially if there is any movement about
