I have around £10 store credit for Game and I feel like getting a new RPG, preferably a fantasy RPG. Looking at video reviews etc, Dragon's Dogma seems to be the best bet, since I'm also a big Devil May Cry fan. I already have Skyrim, but could anyone recommend a good one for me?

The Witcher 2
Great game for grown ups.
Didn't really matter that I hadn't played the original, which is PC only.

I haven't played the first, either, which is good since my laptop would have no chance of running it. I had a list of a few games before I posted and the two best ones, based on reviews and message boards, seem to be The Witcher 2 and Dragon's Dogma, so it's good one of the one's there is the one you recommend, otherwise I'd be torn between 3. It seems that they're both completely different in that Dragon's Dogma is more open world with better character progression and combat, where as TW2 seems to have a far better story to it and decisions that actually change what happens in the game. I was starting to lean towards Dragon's Dogma but you've brought me back to right in between the two ;D. If I go to Game and only one of them is in stock, I'll probably just get that one since it'll make my mind up for me. I haven't got a clue what I'll do if they're both in stock though. Cheers for the help.

Yes the story, script acting etc in the Witcher 2 is excellt. I enjoyed the combat but it was mainly the story and impact of your decisions that I liked. And the great British accents talking about ploughing wenches.

I had a quick look at a video review for Alan Wake after I saw your comment and it seems pretty good, especially considering it is probably available for around £5. Is it open world or fairly linear?

Fairly Linear it is.. Another Good RPG is Kingdoms of Amerlur is a good game.. Rather old School style of RPG though.. Dragon age 1 with all the DLC is worth a buy as well! Dragons Dogma any good anyone?

Fairly Linear it is.. Another Good RPG is Kingdoms of Amerlur is a good game.. Rather old School style of RPG though.. Dragon age 1 with all the DLC is worth a buy as well! Dragons Dogma any good anyone? I had KoA a while ago and absolutely loved it. The weapons were really cool. I'll probably get it back some time in the distant future, as I ended up trading it in. I'm guessing the first Dragon Age is Origins? I've been looking at that game for about a year but whenever I get there, I always think it might not be worth it. I've just got back from buying The Witcher 2 anyway and was going to pick up either Alan Wake or Dragon Age: Origins too but they were a stupid price in Game. CEX have them cheaper (around £5 each) but I decided it wasn't worth getting two games at the same time. People who have actually played the game will be able to tell you about it more accurately but, based on the many many reviews and forums I've checked out, Dragon's Dogma looks really good. Apparently a really poor storyline but excellent character customization and some of the best combat ever on an RPG (it's by Capcom who made the Devil May Cry series). The exploration is apparently decent but there's no fast travel, so there's supposedly a lot of running up and down the map where enemies keep spawning in the exact same locations. I still think it looks really good, but Witcher was cheaper and seemed a bit better overall. If you look for "Angry Joe"'s review on YouTube, it's about 20 minutes long so he describes it pretty thoroughly. Another reason I chose not to get it was because they're bringing out a new version soon (Dark Arisen) with added content as the original game wasn't made to support DLC.

Dragon Age Origins is without a doubt one of the best RPG's of the past few years. The story development and sub plots depending upon your initial choices are fantastic. The only story-based RPG I'd put ahead of dragon age origins in the last few years is the Mass Effect series.

... You can get Dishonoured for a tenner as well Is fantastic. And silly for a £10 (You have to like this type of thing, but if you do honestly it is just superb. Looks like no other game I've played. Chilling)

I don't know if I'm juts being stupid but I don't really understand everything (as if I should have researched the story first). It's been rather slow so far, but I've it supposedly picks up a bit from the second level. I'm also crap at it at the moment since I'm used to running into groups hacking and slashing. I'm up to a cave where there's about 15 enemies at once that I have to kill and I just get surrounded by them immediately. Since looking which game to buy, I've now got quite a big list of games I want to get with the main ones being: Dragon Age Origins Dragon's Dogma Dishonored Alan Wake KOA (Already had it but I want it back) LOTR: War In The North Lost Odyssey I've tried to play Mass Effect 1 many times but I can't seem to get into it. I think I'm just getting bored of shooters though, apart from exceptional ones like Far Cry 3.

Cheat and go look at a walk-through for it. Once I had seen that it changed my play-style and TW2 was a decent game from there. As a few have said, how the story changes, depending what you do, is nice. Dishonoured: Yeah. It's like marmite. If you can borrow it, do so ... You will either love it or think Meh(just a plug for FO3. Top stuff. Hoping they decide to do FO4 and pack in the silly MMO idea, that may have thankfully died on its own. We've got MMOs coming out of our ears already)

It was after speaking to a group having a go at some sort of elf (the bell-ends). They then say "yeah, we'll stay here, don't be long". Alternatively, they could just come inside with me and speed up the process.

I'm currently on my 2nd play-through of Dishonored and trying for the Shadow, Ghost and Clean Hands achievement. (Basically go through the game undetected and without killing anybody) It almost becomes a different game when you play it like that.
Despite thinking Far Cry 2 was shite, I'm going to pick up FC3 because I've seen some LPs and reviews and it looks shit hot.

Honestly, I can't speak highly enough of Far Cry 3. You'll enjoy it when you play it. I spent hours hunting animals for no reason.

Another reason for getting FC3 is for; On a related note, since the next gen consoles will be out soon, I've decided to stump up the 15 quid p/m for LoveFilm (3 games & streaming) instead of buying a new 40 quid game every month. I've got loads of games to get through including Bioshock 2 & Infinite and the Mass Effect series.

I've played Red Dead Redemption and loved it but I won't get it back until I'm really struggling since I've already played it. I've got FF13 but haven't completed it yet, even though I loved it. I really didn't like the Final Fantasy games when I was younger, for some reason, but I liked this one. I've got Fallout and Skyrim (which means I won't bother with Oblivion, I doubt) so it'll probably be Dragon Age after I've done The Witcher 2.
