Still enraged that Pulis only played him for 60 mins on the left wing in a nothing game against Bolton, whilst Forrest Walters played up front. Absolute disgrace.

It was certainly a baffling decision, especially since Jerome went straight up front when he replaced him. Can't see what TP was trying to achieve with that one.

I wouldn't call Walters an aggressive player. I would say that he's a player who is extremely fond of running around....a lot.
I agree though that we're missing some aggressive players on the pitch who wouldn't take the foot of the pedal until they had won the ball. I think an important element is to have a balance between aggression and creativity. We need someone to win the ball, but also someone who could feed the strikers and and add some flair and unpredictability to the team.

I think Walters is aggressive you don't see him being bullied off the ball alia Crouch and when played through middle he can be aggressive and hassle and hurry defenders.

We miss him in so many ways. I feel genuinely sad when I think of how we would be playing had we signed him up and given him a full pre season.

My impression of Ric that day was he that he wasnt physically capable of playing any more than 30 minutes upfront or wide,he looked really shot. I don't see how playing him up front would have helped him. with hindsight it would have been better if he'd not started & instead played upfront for the last 30 minutes (when everyone else has tired) & then he could have had a great cameo.

Thanks Jamo.....amazing! particularly the last 2 minutes, for the first time in a long time i found myself shouting, clapping and hailing city's number 10.....it's old footage. Breaks my heart the way he departed and the fact that we'll never replace him. The memories will have to do

Amongst other things yes. He won us lots of set pieces, set pieces that we score the majority of our goals from and set pieces that we aren't currently winning. We've lost Delap's throw too which takes pressure off sides and also means we win less corners. We've also lost Higgi's hoofs into the channel that Fuller used to chase and win us set pieces. Added to that we're not playing wingers who can cross, so that loses delivery from out wide and the chance to win a corner. Our set piece delivery has also gone very iffy. We've replaced all of the above with absolutely fuck all but still try to play this way despite not having as good tools for the job or the correct tools completely. well said totally agree
