Would be great to watch. Particularly 2 years ago. That said even today it would be far more entertaining than our current side. We really missed a trick not playing Tuncay and Fuller in the same starting xi.

That would be ok against Exeter, but against anyone decent, they'd rip right through the midfield.

That would be ok against Exeter, but against anyone decent, they'd rip right through the midfield. A top GK, a very strong back 4. a holding midfielder supported by hard working wide men and a creative midfielder who is prepared to run all day. Two strikers with the pace to press opposition defenders and close down deep lying midfielders ( like Wellbeck did againt R. Madrid). Most managers would see this as a pretty balanced side. Don't you think our own quality attacking players could be organised and coached well enough to actually cause problems for the opposition? You always seem to have such a low opinion of the players TP has brought to Stoke.

GK Begovic RB Wilko CB Huth CB Shawcross LB Wilson CDM Nzonzi RM Pennant LM Etherington CAM Tuncay ST Fuller ST Jones NO. Wilkinson is not good enough, lots of effort and passion, not so much quality. Pennant is finished, he proved that on his loan spell at Wolves. Tuncay was shit when he played for us, shitter when he couldn't get in the Wolfsburg team, shitter still when he couldn't get in the relegated Bolton team, and struggling to get in the Bursaspor team in the shit Turkish league. Apart from that its alright. ;-)

Decent side, but if anything Id maybe improve on the full back positions.
Any team with an in-his-prime Ricardo Fuller would get my vote.

Tuncay is not good enough and never was, i cannot believe how he conned so many people. Even Owen Coyle wouldn't play him

How on earth is it balanced? If that was the case then how come I can't think of any managers that regularly play such an attacking diamond? It reminds me of a football book I read in school. They tried to say that 4-2-4 was the best formation because you would always have 6 defending or 6 attacking depending on which phase you were in ;D

Cameron - Huth -Shawcross - Wilson
Pennant - Adam - Nzonzi - Etherington
Crouch - Owen

The OP is a totally spurious post though as Fuller and Tuncay are no longer with us. I don't quite understand how this then morphed into yet another 'what's our best team?' thread.

Does seem rather odd just throwing Ric and Tuncay in there. If we're pretending that these players are still in top form then I'd have Ric and Beattie up front again. Beattie was class in his first few months here. He'd solve our penalty woes too, no chance of Jon boy bullying him off peno duty.

I would be very happy with this team because.............. 1) No Shotton 2) No Cameron 3) No Crouch 4) Fuller was released to soon 5) Would of loved to see Tunny in that role for a few games (and not been subbed after just coming on away at Hull) 6) I like to see players playing in a position that they were brought in to play. 7) I would like it even more if Pulis was not the manager

ALL the above posts have one major fault. You can't have two up front AND three out of four attacking midfielders. we would be torn apart by most teams. 4-1-1-4 would never work.

It amazes me how many people are putting Shotton and Cameron ahead of Wilko at RB.
When in my opinion he's the best full back at Stoke.

I agree although on current form I think Shotton does deserve the place. If we're playing fantasy football I'd go; Bego Wilko Shawcross Huth Wilson Pennant N'Zonzi Cameron Adam Ethers KJ But on the proviso that Ethers and Pennant support KJ and any two of the central midfielders can push forward too. No Fuller simply because he's now a Charlton player.

I would play Adam in the 'quarterback' role, just behind the midfield. He ain't no Messi. His passing game would force Nzonzi to take more of a risk and support the front two a little more than he's doing at the moment.

That's the role I'd give him but defensively he wouldn't be where he is in Your line up in mine, that man would be Cameron. Offensively he would but generally I'd give him free reign, N'Zonzi would be let off the leash and Cameron would hold and break when others were covering.
