The league is so poor. For how bad we were today I've just watched Wigan be somehow even worse

Or maybe it's because everyone on here has very short memories and we haven't actually been terrible for the whole of the season...? No, you're probably right, the league is just shit and Pulis has been lucky all year

Just got home, at this precise moment I would settle for 7 more points / Premiership survival.
Surely we can do better than todays performance.
Just spend the next 7 days practising shooting / heading on target - we need some goals!!!!

What amazes me is,if Pulis got the sack, only clubs in the lower divisions would want him,are the ones who want to avoid relegation. Yet some Stokeies believe he is the Bees knees.

No mention of the 2 penalty appeals for us - let's see what the tv highlights reveal www.goal.com/en-gb/match/81114/stoke-city-vs-west-ham/reportThe Hammers should have had a penalty 10 minutes later as Ryan Shotton’s lazy tackle ended a surging run for Mohamed Diame inside the area but referee John Moss was not interested in giving what appeared to be a clear foul on the midfielder.

Till the end of January (almost) we looked very steady at the back and always knew we would have the chance to win if we scored a goal! Then suddenly we started to concede at an alarming rate (maybe a bit earlier), and we didn't look like scoring either! What happened? Well one change was Crouch for KJ which was really difficult to understand, and we also seemed to stop getting crosses into the box! I don't know why it all happened, but I felt so good after that Liverpool win, but after that we have certainly been on a slide I'm afraid! Why did we change something that worked so well? ???

I said a few months ago, that there will be several teams who will stay up by default, the PL being of a very poor standard, this season, plus the managerial nerves re. the (Sky) Big Money bundle, at the end of the season.
I will not change my mind, just be extremely grateful, if one of the lucky escapees is SCFC. Remember that we stopped on 10th for what seemed like weeks on end, even when we kept losing. Any continution of negative results, however, having lost that protective gap between us and the bottom half, and we could slip down quite a few places.

The 3 goals conceded against Southampton and TP's cooment of 'The players seemed to still be congratulating themselves from the Liverpool game' was the start of it. throw in Chelsea and Man City and that's more than enough reasons for TP to have his annual 'lets screw everything up for three months' spell

Apparently we cant rely on being one of the top 5 defensive units in all the top leagues in Europe to sustain itself and carry us over the 40 fucking point line. Whodathought it eh? I dont mean to aim that at you, but we were never gonna keep that record up and Pulis has again sacrificed attacking intent for that very purpose.. so we find ourselves where we are now. PULIS OUT

At the end of December, we were sitting in 8th, 4 points behind 5th place Arsenal, Everton and West Brom. 1 point ahead of Swansea and Liverpool, 7 clear of 13th place Sunderland and 11 clear of relegation. 6 wins, 11 draws, +4 goal difference.
8 games later, we are in 11th, 14 points behind Arsenal, 11 behind Everton and 7 behind West Brom (who have themselves been in a poor run). Liverpool and Swansea are 9 and 7 points clear of us respectively. We're now 1 point ahead of 13th place Norwich, 3 ahead of Sunderland, 6 ahead of 16th place Southampton but still 9 clear of relegation. 1 win, 1 draw, defeats and a -11 goal swing.
So, despite us still sitting in 11th, we've already dropped 3 places and allowed the 4 teams below us to get within 3 points of us. Above us, only Fulham are in 'striking' distance being on level points, before the 7 point jump to West Brom.
Rob - we were looking steady at the back until the end of December. January damaged us and February has been damage limitation
