And no doubt straight back into the Woy's squad demoting young Jack to the U21's. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21621732Woy should tell Foster to do one...but he won't of course. Apologies if already posted

U21s would be better for Butland at this stage of his career

U21s would be better for Butland at this stage of his career Correct but its a great excuse for Woy to avoid stoke players at all costs

players should wear the england shirt with pride and no they shouldnt be paid to represent thier country it is an honour. sadly all players care about these days is ££££ once foster turned down england that should be it, he should never be asked to be in the squad again he made his bed let him lie in it. i find it amusing these days of ex england players who dont make the squads anymore announcing retirement er excuse me your not being picked because youre not good enougth any more retiring my arse

Shame that Hart, Ruddy, Forster and Butland are all ahead of him.

To be fair boys he's a sound fella. I've had a drink with him a few times and asked him about the England situation. The only reason he packed in with England in the first place was because he was away from his wife and kids so much and not getting a game. Understandable really.
He also has nothing but praise for the Potters and how a lot of pundits label us up as a rugby team

He's still an average 'keeper who I wouldn't want here. He makes too many mistakes for my liking. He's not in the Green/Carson class but he's definitely in the Barthez in the latter stages of his career zone. He's just Your average modern 'keeper. Great shot stopper, can be a dracula and is a fairy.

Foster may well merit a place in the squad and that in itself demonstrates the dearth of good English players. Hart is far and away the best English keeper but bloody hell, where did the idea he's one of the best in the world come from?

Every game Hart plays he makes a mistake. Big mistake too. OK, not at home to us because we don't bother him, but he saved a penno last week. Very good but it was his error that made the penno

Very good but it was his error that made the penno And it's always described as a "rare" mistake. Funny how some players are just more media-friendly than others, isn't it.

For all that remember he is the best English keeper. On reflection people look back to the 70s and say we used to have best keepers in the world BUT did we? Zoff Maier Fillol. Were ours really as good as them ones? Or is it an example of insularness like the Joe Hart love in is now??

Strange time to change his mind, Joe Hart is the number 1 by a long stretch.
Didn't he 'retire' because he was sick of being 2nd or 3rd choice? Travelling and training with the squad with no chance of actually playing?
