Barry Siddall at Old Trafford was the worst goalkeeping performance I've ever seen with the exception of Gordon Marshall at Luton Hanns Seggars at WBA wasn't much better

How many own goals did we score that season? I think Dyson was right up there with some beauties.

Standing in the Butler Street Paddock as per normal ....... I dont know why but that season didnt seem as painful as some of the ones that followed, especially when we had moved to the Brit.

Might not have been the same year, but he was only 18 or so. I seem to remember he let in a goal that spun horribly past him vs Luton?

I must have been there, because I didn't miss a home match that season. Had forgot about that season. Now I've been reminded I'll have to start therapy all over again.

I was at the Norwich game, as I was for all the home games and nearly all the aways that season.
If I remember right our goal scoring rate was something like 1 every 2 games and we were conceding at the rate of about 2 goals per game, I think we ended up with a goal difference of -60. We broke a number of records that season, fewest points, most defeats, fewest goals scored, most conceded, fewest wins etc., not sure how many we still hold
My brother - in -law came to the game at Leicester with me, he's a Leeds fan. To this day he still refers to the Stoke side he saw at Leicester as the worst side he's ever seen.
He's probably not wrong.

I was one of the 4 1/2 thousand there, along with a mate who was a Rotherham season-ticket holder. He was kipping at our house as he was working in Uttoxeter that week and it's actually one of his favourite footie "claims-to-fame"!
I recall that I had Radio Stoke on that day and during the sports news they never actually mentioned that there was a game that night!!
That may account for the low attendance....as well as the s**t football of course

Went every game that season. The gate was around 8000 stokies for most games, if Pulis had have been in charge it would have been 4000 But Pulis would have kept us up Hard to believe that there were only 4,000 fans watching a match in a top division when Stoke have such a loyal following Maybe they were all like the Oatcake posters of today even back then

I remember the lad being really young and I seem to remember the game I referred to being at night, played with an orange ball. It was a Shane Warne spin on the ball. He had no chance!

Not quite sure of the year, was it after foxy got sent off against Luton in the 4-4 game?

Yes, i own up to being on the Boothen End for the mentioned fixture, just as i had all season long. I remember feeling down often before the match kicked off, simply because we knew what was about to happen. However, never for any match did i consider not going. My beloved football club was enduring a thoroughly tortured existence, and i had to be there, because as a supporter, that's what you do.

As tonight's Sentivale segment includes the Holocaust season, who was one of the 4,597 there when we lost 3-2 to Norwich. Me and the Missus were in the Butler Street Stand so can the other 4595 own up. I've a feeling this could turn out like Peterborough away in the Autoglass where I think Bunny reckons there were 250000 of us there. These young 'uns have no idea..... I was there. I've been virtually every (home) game since and will continue to be there until I'm incapable of going anymore. That's not to say that makes me a better fan than anybody else. It's just that I couldn't imagine a life without following Stoke.

Didn't we use about 5 Keepers that season? I remember the away match at Everton, we were behind the goal in those days at Goodison Park. Joe Corrigan was in goal that day. We lost 0-4 that day. When Everton scored their 3rd goal, Big Joe shook his head in disbelief at our defending, by the time the 4th went in he looked like he had simply give up. Following the lads away that year really hurt. Quite often on the following Monday at work, the few Vale fans would be waiting to gloat and ask why i spent all my earned cash watching that. My answer after the Everton match was that '' It would be a long day in Hell before i'd take advice about football from them''.

For my 14th Birthday present I was given a seson ticket for the holocaust eason, so I was probably there.
Remember playing Sheff Wed early that season, one of our three wins all season, and all hell breaking out in the Boothen Paddock. For a 14 year old this was a real eye opener.
Remember losing to Coventry when they got out of jail and stayed up.
