As much as I like Middlesbro ( I have many friends from the area)..we are a bigger club than them. Sheff Utd is a better call.

West Ham. They boot it more than us and some fans want Allardyce replaced. It's funny looking at them now when so many Stokies have wanted Allardyce to replace Pulis in the past. Do those same Stokies want Allardyce still?

West Ham are a bigger club than we are sadly. Allardyce would be about the only manager who could probably inherit the players we have and do well with them imo.

Im not a Middlesborough fan, but im not 100% sure about that, they have won the league cup, came runners up twice, and been in a fa cup final. Similar to us. They have been runners up in the UEFA cup . They have a bigger capacity ground, with higher attendances when in the prem, currently with an average attendance of 18k (similar to us in the championship). We are very similar, we cant say we a re a bigger club than them. We are currently more successful, but that can change very quickly.

NO other club is like Stoke. We're a complete and utter one off.

We really do come up short in these competitions when it comes to success or near success. I think the Boro comparison is about right but the things they've won or come close to winning just outshine us.

I agree Middlesboro are the closest thing we have to a twin club.
Though as others have said we are unique!

Like for like I always thought the Albion were incredibly similar to us in many ways.
Totally different mind sets from the two groups of fans but the clubs are very alike.

All the Midlands clubs are much of a muchness apart from Villa. Only difference is that Wolves got their act together in the 50's, Derby and Forest in the 70's etc. We, as is often said, would have had our little golden spell in the 40's if it wasnt for the minor inconvenience of a World War (although knowing Stoke we would probably have found a way of screwing it up). The only other slight difference about us is the inconvenience of our Burslem bretheren. Others dont have to put up with that in the same city.
