There was a brilliant documentary on Sky Arts about Joni Mitchell's life the other day (Joni Mitchell - A woman of Heart & Soul) think I've seen it. They keep repeating a great documentary film on bbc4 about the Californian music scene at the time. To do with the troubadour Yes it's a good channel along with Sky arts for these sort of shows.

Neil Young.The bloke is awesome. Agreed. I'm a Neil Young fan above and beyond anyone else. I didn't call him out for this category since he is so versatile. I guess his folksy acoustic stuff would fit the 'singer song writer' bill but his torch the amps stuff with Crazy Horse wouldn't. Either way the man is a genius. The best there has ever been.

Those albums kind of take hold of you and they don't let go, fabulous stuff
