It's a top piece of kit, Apple brought out the iPod mini in a hurry, and you can tell. Their next version of it will probably be very good, but for now, you cannot beat the Nexus 7.

I'd say the best alternative to an iPad. Sell shit loads of them at work and they're fantastic. They're even better if you root them.
They have had quite a few issues with build quality in earlier batches, but the newer products seem to be far better.

I've got one and I like it. That's as far as my expertise goes The "On" button is on the top right hand side of it, and there's a volume button just underneath it. Hope that helps.

Best way to go. Far more flexibility than an iPad.

What are you running? I'm using AOKP on my Nexus 4 and 7, with Franco's kernel.

Looks like a minefield to me. I'm not saying that all cheap tablets are rubbish, but they usually are, and how do you work out which ones are not pieces of junk? There's more to a good tablet than processor speed and RAM.

I don't have one myself, but a few months back I set up a friend of mine with the same sort of set up using AOKP 4.0.4 and Franco r20. Been messing around with AOKP 4.2 the last few weeks. Doesn't seem to be as good as previous ROMS.

I know what you mean. That said I think the devs are staring to get their heads around 4.2, and they are nearly there now.
I think this is how it's going to be from now on, each release is increasingly complex with things like multiple accounts an emulated space.

If youre capable of straying from apple then the nexus 7 is the best on the market. Bought my missus one and she can use it, and ithink its very very good. Worth a go, best android tablet i think

I've got one of these cheapo Chinese tablets, cost me £30 all in, I only really use it as a portfolio for my Graphics work, but other than that runs some half decent games etc, worth the risk imo. RichieBarkerOut: It is a bit of a mine field, best thing to do if you're going down that road is to go on a couple of forums and see what they recommend.
