Since we have got back to the PL, we have lost EVERY single away game against Man Utd, Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal. I know these 4 are the biggest teams in the Country but still, that is pretty poor. I have got no gripe with Pulis or the fact we have lost all 20 games, What My problem with that is the fact we have set up to defend so deep is the fact that it has failed every time. I know we are not expected to win these games, so we might as well go out and have a go at them.
Man Utd 08/09 0-5 09/10 0-4 10/11 1-2 11/12 0-2 12/13 2-4
Chelsea 08/09 1-2 09/10 0-7 10/11 0-2 11/12 0-1 12/13 0-1
Man City 08/09 0-3 09/10 0-2 10/11 0-3 11/12 0-3 12/13 0-3
Arsenal 08/09 1-4 09/10 0-2 10/11 0-1 11/12 1-3 12/13 0-1
Overall Played 20 W0 D0 L20 F6 A55 GD-49 PTS 0 Goals Per Game:0.3 Goals Against Per Game: 2.75
So, in conclusion, As much as I like TP and admire what he has done for our club, he needs to think about how we set up shop away from home.

We haven't even nicked a point out of a possible 60. Still, look at their resources?

It's like some say,Only Pulis can get us results in the Prem. No other manager could.

Exactly, why are we not going to Man U, Man City, Arsenal and Chelsea and wiping the floor with these teams, its not as if they have world class players that could easily take us apart if we went at them all guns blazing.

Thing is though Boskamp, lots of other teams in their first season alone have managed points and goals at these places.

Dont get me wrong, I like Pulis, and playing gung-ho football against these teams would be suicide, but just sitting so far back praying for a point is just inviting these teams to have a go at us. The other thing is we are not playing with any pace in the aforementioned games, surely, if we defended just a bit higher upfield and maybe played Jerome up front maybe we could have nicked a draw or better.

I'm on about the odd point from 20 games? Reading, Wigan and others have all managed it? 0 points from 60 and a minus 49 goal difference is all down to money?

Not one person has said that. But we've gone there again with a gameplan of trying to nick a 0-0 or 1-0 and again it hasn't worked. Is there really that much to lose trying to have more of a go?

The one that sticks out as the most pathetic is Arsenal. They are well beatable at the Emirates. We've got it within us to have them, even in our current shitty depleted state.

Isn't that the OP's point though ... they're still taking us apart when we're doing what we're doing.

I think that's what is known as missing the point. Nobody is expecting us to go to those places and kick arse. It's hard work on here sometimes!! Are people being obtuse just for the sake of it?

Proof that our away tactics don't work? you don't have to be Gary Neville to work that one out! 1 win in 27 away games is it? and that was at West Brom so is virtually guaranteed

What is apparent from the table is that we are getting closer to them.

Our away plan is well and truly a load of bollocks, it's never worked from the outset, and yet Pulis won't change it, said before might as well lose 5-0 going for it, then 5-0 sitting with 10 men in our box all the game, clueless Pulis.

The pile of turgid shite we've served up away from home over and over again clearly doesn't work.
If we'd set up differently then perhaps our average goal difference would be worse, but we'd almost certainly have more points and we'd be more entertained.
Pulis has tried these tactics 60 times. They worked zero times. Would changing it really be worse?

The 40 points mentality dictates this philosophy imo. Sad thing is that we could get there sooner with a bit more positive play away from home and indeed when we get one goal ahead at home.
We SHOULD be safe and can afford to set out with an attacking format both home and away and expect to add to our points total. After all, our squad is weighted towards attacking players - so why not use them in their respective positions

He knows the point but like all the other staunch Pulis followers he is being like you say obtuse for the sake of it. Basically they are running out of excuses to keep making for Pulis' shite tactics so keep trotting out the same nonsensical arguments post after post. Our away record is totally indefensible and the more people try to defend it,the more inept they make our manager look and the more daft they make themselves look too.
