This isn't just about Tony (although he is more responsbile than anyone else). This is about Coates, the whole management of the club etc... they really need to rethink their transfer strategy. Hopefully this will prove to them that you can't expect to do all your business in the last few hours of the window? I don't think it has anything to do with PC. He has made the funds together and has seen an obscene amount spunked up the wall. To ask his manager to utilise what he's got doesn't seem unfair to me.

Can we consider for a moment that the blame does not lie with TP? Perhaps, like almost any manager, he highlights his targets and passes it on to the transfer team. This system seems to have changed with Rudge leaving, and maybe - just maybe, the team did not do the deals Tony wanted and he now doesn't have the players that he thought he would have.

If, as his refusal to answer the question implied, the funds hadnt been made available for signings this is madness by the club. Why risk a huge income next season for a relatively small outlay now?? Maybe they don't trust him? Maybe they are tying to back him into a corner? Maybe he is bending the facts a little? Who knows? What's becoming very clear is that all is not rosy at the top table.

Think it was yesterday, Sarge. Dave said there was a battle going on between Tone and his boys against Scholes and Cartwright. Oh dear that doesn't sound good at all

Also talking explicitly about avoiding relegation and nothing else. PS I've clearly missed something here, who's Cartwright? Replacing Rudge.

We still put down £6 million this window and double figures in the summer after 22 million the summer before. He can't whinge about not being backed.

I didnt like his last comment saying "lets hope i can keep it going" Whats that all about? Its not a usuall type comment from TP. Doesnt sound very confident at the moment. He's either trolling the Stoke fans or he's starting to worry about his position.

Can't see TP doing that tbh, he clearly likes to be in control of all aspects of the club.

He's either trolling the Stoke fans or he's starting to worry about his position. I'd say it's the latter. It doesn't take a genius to realise that some (possibly harsh) words and questions have been aired.

Im in the 50/50 camp on pulis but if hes going to start a conversation off about something finish it instead of making the paying public guess. To be honest he does waste a lot of money on the last minuite deals perhaps Peter wants him to explain why hes buying players from now on. If this carries on Tone i will be soon joining the 40/60 camp

Losing games on purpose, "wow behold me" and general fuck wittery from the capped one.

It's actually quite sad but to save the pain he needs to see the writing on the wall , he doesmt deserve a witch hunt but if he sets his stall out that only results will see him gone then they are on their way and everyone is going to get hurt

I wouldn't give him another penny. Millions wasted and he refuses to introduce and blood youth. He has the same time as every other manager to bring players in and failed. His lack of a left back bites him straight in the bum today. He is obviously losing his control and he doesn't like it so starts throwing his toys out. Well if it's that bad Pulis please resign and walk away. Many won't be bothered anymore!

To be honest, it's for the best that the purse strings have been tightened.
Lets make sure we stay up, then assess the situation in the summer.
By then we may have actually developed some kind if transfer strategy & can put that into a action, instead of hoarding central midfielders & strikers.

If the senior management team are openly doubting the manager to the point he is saying that type of stuff in public interviews, then they need to back up their minds and mouths with action otherwise it will kill the club from the inside out and from the bottom up to the top.

Given the Coates-Pulis relationship, you'd think that if he barked loudly enough as we approached the deadline, he could force things over the line on a particular deal with a phone call direct to Peter?
Bit worrying for him if that's not the case?

PC defended Pulisball pre-Wembley as being exciting because of the pace, two wingers and getting the ball forward quickly. All gone a bit wrong on that front hasn't it?

I'm totally convinced, and I posted as such last night, that the reigns on this club are slowly being transferred to the Coates siblings, and rightly so, it's their inheritance and Sir Pete can't be expected to shoulder the pressure much longer, he deserves the break at his age.
John and Denise may have a slightly different outlook in terms of progressing us even if that means adapting us. I do believe they have this club at heart though
