Ugly will just about sum it up if there are chants of "Pulis out" on Tuesday. We saw against Chelsea how the fans are ready to turn on each other. You can also tell from the mood on here how divided the fans are. If the team get off to a bad start on Tuesday then it could get tasty. And if anyone thinks the empty seats today were embarrassing, that's nothing to what mass fisticuffs will look like among our own fans. already experienced this first hand at the end of the game in valencia, there is no doubt there will be brawling on a large scale amongst our support. there are some dick heads who will not hear a word against pulis no matter what is happening on the pitch. i would never chant for him to be sacked though. i just want it all to be handled in a dignified manner and the manager to step down and either move upstairs or just take a break.

Oddly enough, loads had started to turn on Pulis away at Wigan earlier this season. Loads of 'Pulis Out' shouts.

onion man, I agree. Can we just bring the retirement forward a year to this summer? Perhaps announced erm...tomorrow? In all seriousness I said I'd had enough of Pulisball and all the trimmings in pre-season & that's still my opinion. I'm happy to say thanks, goodbye and in years to come view TP as one of the best managers we've ever had. The problem is that even when he hits the right notes and we click as a team, I know the next act of fuckwitted meddling is only a game or two away and we're back to square one. He's still ahead now (just), and it's always best to go out while you still are and leave a positive legacy. There'd be a risk of course, but then that's part of the attraction. I like the idea of Pulis, free of the shackles of Pulis. It sounds stupid, but I think this could actually happen, for one season only, if Pulis knew it was his last season in the job. Kind of like Bobby Robson in 1990. Everyone was fed up of him for his tired defensive ideas building his team around Terry Butcher. It was generally agreed he was an idiot and it was time for someone else. Then he signed up for PSV before the World Cup, and suddenly he had nothing to lose and he was a different man. In the same way, I think Pulis would be a different man knowing it was his last season. Despite what we've seen in recent seasons, we know from sporadic spells that Pulis has it in him to actually go for it if he really wants to. If I'm wrong, what have we lost? At worst, we'd have another season of mid-table mediocrity before getting on with the rest of the ups and downs of Stoke City. At best we'd have a season of Pulisball without the fear that holds it back. After ten years of Pulisball, we owe it to ourselves to give it one last chance of spawning a memorable season, before jacking it in forever. I may be increasingly in the minority on this bit, but I think we owe it to Tony Pulis too.

Not in the way Pulis is, in terms of grinding out a 0-0, but he was afraid of taking risks. He was married to 4-4-2 until he had nothing to lose, and then he was like, may as well build the team around Gazza and hope for the best, and started playing a sweeper system. I'm not suggesting we have a Gazza in our ranks, just that if Pulis was given one last throw of the dice it may force him to add a bit of "good risk" to his attitude, to add to the good qualities of his overall safety first approach.

It would be nice to think the lads would get some support on Tuesday. Never mind. doesn't matter momo, it is a guaranteed 3 points on tuesday. wigan cannot hope to compete with us as we have spent much more money on players than they have. i'm sure they'll turn up and be very obliging, allowing us a routine 3-0 victory

"It's going to be a tough match. Wigan is a great side. They've been in the Prem longer than us and this season, they've won three times more away games than we have. And they beat us in 2011 at the Brit. Plus they won today against Macclesfield who beat us 3:1 in 1998."

I'm not in the Pulis out camp, just yet.....but i have started thinking lately i wouldnt mind seeing a change in management, just for something different, im getting increasingly bored of square pegs in round holes, constant talking up of the opposition, a complete lack of fullbacks, the constant meddling and messing with a winning formula and im intrigued to see us under another manager, with a new philosophy.
i've never really recovered from last season being mainly a shower of shit, right on the back of that excellent run of form in april/may 2011, when it looked like Pulis had finally cracked it and got the right balance between keeping it tight, and playing free flowing attacking football.
the way we have regressed since then is alarming, especially when you take into consideraton the £35m he's spent since the cup final!
i do also love a good manager out campaign, its sad i know.....but football is a much better experience when theres a bit of venom in the air

every season we lose a few in a row and it doesn't matter what position we are in the managers chief detractors try to get their creaky bandwagon going, maybe trousers is right and it we will finally get some audible discontent with us virtually safe mid season, with our longest unbeaten run just weeks ago and a cup exit to the league champions
