There was a suggestion to do the John Cabot.
Personally, I may well do the Roo Bar off Whiteladies.

bristol based but i'm heading up to the game.
you're right the roo bar can show 2 games at once, but it doesn't mean that they will. (i've asked for stoke games in there before where theres been a prem game on sultarna and they've said no).
though the main barman is a big bristol fan so there may be a chance of getting it on a few of the tv's.
theres the big sports bar on baldwin street. they'll have it on(though being in town its a bit of a chav magnet).
with gloucester road depends what end, if you're talking by the arches, theres the cat and wheel or the bishops tavern they've both got sky. (though if theres a prem game on you'll probably be forced to watch that as its gas country up there).

Roo Bar would be good. I think a lot of pubs will be preferably showing our game as it's Bristol City playing.
I finish playing on the Downs at about 4.15pm so Roo Bar would make sense for me!
EDIT: The Sports Cafe on Baldwin St has closed down now, so don't try that one. Also looked like Walkabout and the John Cabot on Corn St were kind of closed down this morning.

I know Bar BS3 in Ashton will be showing it as will the 3 Lions and other pubs in the area.
On aserious note it's always a good ideal to give the pub a call before you set off as I know in the past many pubs wil not show live Bristol football as it causes to many problems between City & Rovers fans.

As a Stoke fan living in Bedminster, deep in the heart of '82 territory, I'd recommend you ignore OTIB's post. Any Stoke fan going into BS3 or the Three Lions would be on a suicide mission. I'm going to the match but if I were watching it on telly, town would be the best bet. Gloucester Road mightn't be too bad as all the Gas will be watching up that way. Last I hear the John Cabot on Gloucester Road was shut down cos of all the trouble Rovers fans caused up there.
