Don't let the facts get in the way of your long held opinion Dave eh!? Team seection!? Wilson, out, Wilko, out, Shotton, Out - so not much choice there. OK, we should sign two qulity full backs - plenty around aren't there!? Wide men - Kightlystruggling - would you seriously play him and Ethers at the moment? At least Walters will put in a shift Jones - some concern about his "mind set", who on here can say they really know what is going on there? We know we need some new blood (I guess the manager does too) but yesterday he had to go with what he has got at his disposal, and it wasn't enough, simple as that. Oh, and had Jerome not missed from 2 yards..who knows what might have happened...strange you never mentioned that. A bit of balance would make your comments far more credible

A bit of balance would make your comments far more credible He had a winger on the bench at his disposal yet chose a slow centre forward on the wing instead. He had a rejuvenated striker in Kenwyne Jones at his disposal who had almost single-handedly turned our performances around yet he chose the immobile Peter Crouch instead. So don't give me that rubbish.

Long held opinion?
What you on about Leics?
My opinion is that Crouch is totally ill-suited to the way we play and looks lost and hopeless when he does play. My opinion is that Adam is crap regardless of where he plays, but playing in the hole, he is worse than hopeless.
My opinion is that Walters is the worst winger in the entire premier league, aside from maybe Kightly and he should play only in the hole behind KJ.
My opinion is that KJ didn't deserve to be dropped regardless of what may or may not be going on behind the scenes. I can forgive the full-back issue yesterday, to some degree, but is Shotton really injured?
Cameron needs a rest. He is costing us goals on a weekly basis and Deano is a poor midfielder who can do a job at right back. He isn't and never will be a left back.
Yesterday's team selection was ludicrous, regardless of injuries to full-backs and I predicted a 3-0 loss as soon as I saw the team sheet.
There is no long held opinion in that. I just have eyes in my head that allow me to see what is in front of me.
The quotes were not from me. They were from the Swansea version of Dennis Smith who had no agenda or long held beliefs at all.

He was missing from the bench against Palace despite Wilko carrying a knock and he was completely absent from the squad yesterday with the official line in all media being that he was out injured. I'm not sure what else could be the issue?

It's hard for me to have much sympathy for Tone when he bemoans us missing full backs as we've been missing them for fucking years!
Try bastard signing one, gaffer!!

I no longer get an excited feeling before away games.
I've decided only cheap and close away games now, not many of those around now Bolton(not worth it anyway we always bend over there), and Blackburn went down.

We have lost plenty of close and cheap games and that certainly doesn't help you when planning away trips. Couple in how wank we are on the road and it's easy to see why many are turning their backs on away trips. I looked round at Man City and it was devoid of many, many familiar faces and my face wasn't at Swansea yesterday.

It was abject surrender yesterday.....our only ploy was to try and squeeze the life out of a game of football and pray for a set piece goal.
Just why was Jones dropped for Crouch?.....madness just madness.
I also left after the 3rd goal and got sympathy all around from a Swansea fan in that Rossi fish bar who couldnt believe our tactics and set up.
Absolutely disgraceful and those of us who ( and even the fans who didnt ) travelled down there given the weather conditions deserved better than what we witnessed yesterday.

To be fair the same could be said of them at Stoke, when they we abysmal. Probably our easiest home game this season.

Pulis and Scholes wont give a shit if we all gave up mate as the club dont recieve any gate receipts anyway. It just gets steadily worse.....he stands there hands in pockets occasionally chatting to Kemp and thats as far as it goes. Even the subs that are made can be called in the pub before a ball has even been kicked. So predictable Jamo

He incredibly stated that the plan was to give Crouch and hour then bring Kenwyne on. When did KJ enter the fray? 62 minutes. It's simply fucking diabolical management to decide about the timing of substitutions irrespective of what's happening right before your eyes.

As long as Coates keeps opening the wallet TP will be ok. When it closes for good it will get ugly. LAZY ARSED MANAGEMENT.

Swansea last season (a pathetic 0-2 defeat) was the last away game I went to and i swore that day not to go to another for as long as TP is manager.
It just isn't worth the money or the effort. In fact, if I was offered a free ticket and free transport I'd still rather do something else.
Like many others, I used to go to loads of away games at all kinds of shit holes. It surely isn't right to feel like that.

davejohnno. simply brilliant and how most people feel about this shit we get dished up.
My last away league game was swansea last season in the 2-0 surrender.
We are getting worse away and i really cant believe people still go because we know things won't change under this idiot and losing away has become the norm for quite sometime now whilst offering no intent to try and win one.
Beloved monkfish...again a brilliant piece.
Next saturday is a no no aswell for me,i just cant be arsed with the aggro to get a ticket then get the ground early to watch us surrender playing that shit failed system.
Saving money has become a priority now than putting it down the drain watching Pulisball because Pulis does not give a toss about supporters, certainly those who go away.
BOYCOTT FOR ME

Like me T.
Never go away again and that is all Pulis's fault even though he has spent 100 mill on the team. we really should be buzzing and selling out away allocations for fun.

Werrington....it says a lot as per yourself when home fans do genuine feel sorry for you (Stoke City) & along with a few others on this board actually suggest the away fans should get reimbursed for such a lack lusture and half arsed performance.
Even nearly 24 hours after the game I still get not a feeling of what did I see, just a sense of why did we bother? It is easy to moan from an armchair at what you see via a laptop or on MOTD, and I am not the most pro or anti Pulis poster on the board, but yesterday has left me with a feeling of why should I bother to put the effort in to get down to South Wales/London/North West for mid morning when I know I am not going to see a side that I have supported whole heartedly for 30+ years, play with some fight, passion & belief.
The end of the game was the cherry on the cake. Yes we lost.yes we were even more sterile & 1 dimensional as before, but the players could at least venture closer from the half way line to clap for the 800 or so who did waste their day to visit The Liberty for you. Maybe they knew in their hearts just how wank they had been in truth

What pissed me off yesterday as against the so many others was not just the distance or cost but the fact so many had put themselves out in what had been attrocious weather and warnings not to travel unless nescessary and we got THAT as our reward. I,m still very angry mate

I,m still very angry mate We always have good craic when we go away but normally end up pissed off. If you were spending a one-er on any other day out you'd expect to come home smiling more often than not (even occasionally with Stoke would do!) Our lot have even said we might all go out and have a top day getting bladdered in the Breweries in Burton or something, spend less money, get home earlier and not get pissed off at the end of it. Like I've said, Tone's away tactics are the main reason for giving a few games a miss but the spiralling cost of football is also a big part of it as well.

More and more posters seem to be seeing the light that I saw some time ago, stopped going to away games a season and a half ago, and have no intention of going again whilst pulis is in charge. I have said it before, and people on here who know me, know that me and my lad Shaun have been up and down the country following our great club, but his tactics have destroyed our enjoyment.
Doing other stuff at weekends that doesn't involve long depressing trips home, and saving money as well, and i don't see that changing anytime soon.

This thread is a really sad read.
However it must really resonate for anyone who has regularly followed TP's Stoke City away from the Brit.
The saddest thing about the thread is the raw truth that so many Stokies are expressing.
