10,000 Season Ticket's Sold Posted on: Thu 17 Apr 2008 City supporters have smashed the club's season ticket record by breaking through the 10,000 barrier for the 2008/09 campaign.
The early bird deadline finished at 7pm this evening after long queues had formed outside the Britannia Stadium all week.
Announcing the news Chief Executive Tony Scholes couldn't hide his delight saying: "This is absolutely fantastic for Stoke City Football Club.
"This is a Great show of commitment and support from over ten thousand supporters.
"The club and city have come alive over the past few weeks and even though we don't know what league we will be playing in the supporters have shown great belief.
"They can of course still play their part this season by making the Britannia Stadium a cauldron of noise for our final two home games."
The Potters will be hoping to break another record for the Bristol City match on Saturday where the biggest crowd of the season is being anticipated.
Tickets for this game are still on sale, as are tickets for the Colchester United fixture which go on general sale to season ticket holder's tomorrow morning

I thought we would of sold a lot more than that. We could possibly sell another 4-5,000 when we get promoted which would mean there would be about 8,000 tickets for general sale.

I was expecting a figure around this mark. It's a good figure as well.

So they're expecting over 23,500 then?

Not one to be negative but 'if' we do miss out for some reason, which I don't think we will, at least the club will have at least somewhere in the region of £3.5m guaranteed for next season not including the latecomers for their season tickets. Just depends on how Mr Coates will spend this income?

I decided last night that I would buy one.
After telephoning the ticket office today, I won't be buying one.
Does Granville still work there?

Takes two minutes to buy online - providing you aren't using the installment plan

Good news, but still very poor in terms of numbers when you compare to other clubs in the Championship.I think we will sell more if we get up.But you will still have the glory hunters picking the obvious games to buy tickets on the day.

Dead right about the glory hunters, eddy, but that's what we have to put up with. Nontheless, 10,000 isn't to be sneezed at with the probability that more will buy. Come on, Stoke! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIBBBBBBBBBBBBBBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
