My my my how times have changed. Seems like only yesterday that they were a top flight club. But the best memory has to be that 2-1 win at the Ricoh in our promotion season 2007/2008. Lenny's goal and the mental that followed was a joy to behold. Happy happy days

Ah the Boskamp era The most bizarre season ever, with some good wins, appalling losses and a manager who liked the word 'schitt'

No one had a clue who had scored it, then a chorus of blokes shouting "fucking hell it was Gerry" bellowed around the stand mid mental. And then Gally scored an absolute beaut! Great night!

Forgot about Gallagher's winner and like you say it was a great goal in a crazy season.

God knows how we got as many points as we did. More luck than judgement I reckon. While we looked better going forward, we were fooking shocking in defense. Our home record that year was anything but 'fortress' .

Our home record that year was anything but 'fortress' . We went half a season with Broomes and Buxton as full backs and Hoefkens as a centre back. :-XnThankfully Gallagher and (when he could be arsed) Bangoura chipped in with enough goals to keep us away from relegation.

Bangoura in the first half of that season was absolutely brilliant. Such a shame he was a rayt twat. Yeah think he went from something like 8 goals in 8 games then 1 in 14 games. Then he went missing. Currently banging in goals in the Greek Second Division according to Wikipedia.

I remember beating Norwich at home that season, 3-1 I think it was, and it was some of the best attacking football I've seen for pm a stoke team. We were terrible in defence though.

Funny that despite all his attempts at money grabbing, he ended up as a lower league journey man, while a player as limited as Mama helped take us up and played in the Premier League.
