www.historicalkits.co.uk/Stoke_City/Stoke_City.htm[/url]The 1898 - 1900 strip is a particular shocker There's still something about the Ansells and Carling sponsored shirts that appeal to me - Probably because Steino & Sheron wore them and they were my hero's at the time. ;D Also - "Stoke Ramblers" what the f... ;D

Football kits have never ever appealed to me....If they played in string vests and knotted hankies with hob nail boots ...I wouldn't be arsed.

Always liked the 1961 - 1963 kit. We won promotion to the top flight in it and we had Matthews at right wing as well as Viollet and a few other great players. I have the TOFFs version and will probably wear it for the Leicester game.

Without doubt the Umbro kits from 77 - 83 are by far the best football kits EVER
We went from the sublime to the ridiculous in 1983 with the pinstripe monstrocity

What concerns me is the way the club chopped and changed its kit almost every year towards the end of the 19th century. Not just subtle changes in design but wholesale changes in style and even colour.
What a rip-off.
I imagine The Sentinel ran a series of `Fans Slam Club For Kit Switch' stories, and probably even devoted a leader column to the scandal, demanding to know how parents were supposed to buy the new kit for their kids on wages of one farthing a week.
