More shots on target (3) than our entire team (2). Still, I quite enjoyed that.

Kept a clean sheet today though. All on his own? What a man I guess the other 3 defenders and keeper must have made up for his lack of defensive abilities.

Not sure where our 2 came from?
Thought Defoe looked excellent. Generates a huge amount of power. Would love him at stoke, but can't see it happening.

he's a great player. he's good at defending, both at full back and CB. and he causes trouble whenever he gets forward. saying he can't defend is bollocks.

Vertongen is a very good player...are at least looks like one to me.
Good feet, solid defensively and gets forward well considering he is predominantly a centre half.
Still, if we shot aimlessly from 30 yards every time we got in the oppositions half, we could have had 15 goal attempts as well.
Spurs created 3 chances worthy of any recognition and the best one didn't come until stoppage time at the end of the game. We were the better side for long periods and anything other than this conclusion is complete and utter bollocks!

I don't really 'get' Spurs, Dave.
Obviously we generally do a good job of stopping teams getting decent chances inside the box but when you're Spurs, and you're at home, and you're on a good run, you'd think engineering a couple of decent opportunities instead of shooting on sight 15 times might be a better strategy.
But yeah, Power to the Pulis. I thought we stepped up yesterday and remained competitive for pretty much the entire 90 minutes. Could have gone either way and considering our away performances in the last few seasons that to me is major progress. I've actually been quite impressed with us away from the Brit in 12/13.
Vertonghen was class at Ajax and looked to bring the ball forward at every opportunity but if he ends up in the middle, as he probably will when they are at full-strength, they're going to be leaving serious holes at the back for other teams to exploit.

I thought him and that Brazillian they had just didn't fancy it yesterday.
Backed out of every 50:50, were content to roll on the floor without any contact and then stuck the boot in when they couldn't get hurt themselves.
