He has rarely favoured playing them both, but maybe the alternatives of Pugh and Riggott (who I think is left-footed?) don't seem as attractive.
Great credit to Riggott, who was solid on Saturday in the 2nd half, but he wasn't unduly tested and I thought his distribution was poor. He looked occasionally lost with the positional demands of the full-back role that must have been alien to him - and you'd think he'd offer considerably less than even Wilkinson going forward in a home match.
Particularly as they have a genuine threat in a left-footed out-and-out winger in McIndoe, surely it makes sense to play Wilkinson?
The Wilkinson-Shawcross-Riggott-Dickinson back 4 just screams out to be played.
That said, you just can't see Pulis leaving Cort out of the XI, can you?

I'd play both of them. Our best back four this season was when they both played in the Newcastle hame game. My back four would be:
Wilko, Shawcross, Riggott, Dicko
But like you I rather think TP will play Cort.

I really hope he does play them both, they are bang up for it and keenly competitive. Lets get some of their passion on display, get stuck in and roll em over

Playing Wilko and Dicko since the excellent outing against Newcastle would be what any manager with a brain would do.
Unfortunately we're talking about Pulis.

if dicko and wilko both play, we'll finish the game with 10 men.
Guaranteed!!

Not trying to be clever, but I've been wittering on about playing them both all season long. By far the two best tacklers in the club even if their distribution isn't the best.
Possibly the problem Pulis has with playing them both is that he can't tell the buggers apart?

Yeah, got a feeling his team will be Riggott-Cort-Shawcross-Pugh Grapey, I think you've got it spot on. TP does tend to see Wilko and Dicko as possible weak links so I seriously doubt he'll go with both in such a massive game. As you say Riggott looked more than comfortable at RB (I actually think he's right footed by the way)

No he won't - he's regularly gone on record saying they are both great FB but don't do enough going forward for home games.

I wish he'd play them both but he'll play Riggott at rightback coz of how Shawcross did when he came on. He needs to stick with Dickinson at leftback though coz he's a better defender than Pugh and Pugh is better at attacking. With Puch being so short of form and confidence we're not getting that side from him effectively enough so it'd make sense to have Dicko there. Dicko can't pass wind but can tackle, unfortunately Pugh is struggling to pass to our players and can't tackle so the answer's easy to me...

He won't drop Cort or Riggott and he has been eulogising about Shawcross since the Cov game, which suggests he will be retained. That leaves one spot for Wilko, Dicko or Pugh.
Because TP thinks Danny offers him more quality on the ball, despite the fact he can't defend (which I always thought was a prerequisite for a full back? Johnny McCue will be turning in his grave!), he will probably get the nod for Saturday.

I'd play them both with Shawcross and Cort in the middle but have a feeling Pulis will go Riggott-Cort-Shawcross-Pugh or even Zakuani-Riggott-Cort-Pugh
