You do wonder how we've managed to take 11 points from our last 5 games without scoring a single goal from a dead ball situation don't you? Stoke City are evolving I tell thee! ;D

Jones' goal was almost from a set piece. Pass to Shawcross who lofted into Jones then the next thing ya know backflip! ;D

Don't let the truth get in the way of the myth. You know we only score from long throws.

Whelan free kick to Shawcross who then hit it. I'd still class that as part of the set piece because we did it to get a better angle for the ball in. I know others will disagree but I still think it is!

We'll have to agree to disagree on that one Bayern, I don't believe it can be counted as a set piece!

You have a point bayern, suppose it's like a corner going in , creating a scramble and then scoring.

The presence of a different chap up front might be a factor perchance?

I disagree I knew You would! That's how I view it chris, it's part of the same phase and our players were in there because we had a set piece. If we hadn't have that free kick, they wouldn't have been there. We just changed the angle of attack.

I kind of see where you're coming from. On that basis though, Johnny Walters would have been from a set piece against Newcastle. That started from a Shott's throw. There is no way i will concede on it though as it wouldn't help my cause with RVD where he also thinks we are reliant on set pieces.

I haven't seen Walters' goal but was the throw a long un'? I was bloody working that game.
Time is another factor in it too I think.

Just an average chuck to Walters down the line. he played it to jerome who crossed it back to walters who nodded home i think

I'd say not then but it is the sort of same thing I agree.

Jones' goal was from a set piece. I wouldn't say it was scored from a set piece. It was scored as a result of a set piece.

It was an indirect free kick!
