This game (Wigan v Newcastle) is ruined for me. Too much punishment for a push in the box. Should only apply to obvious cheating, like handballing on the line. Otherwise, get rid of this rule. Rubbish for people who just want to see a decent game

How is it a red anyway when the keeper would have got the ball first anyway, leaving aside whether is was a pen

I don't see how that is given as a foul in the game. As a defender it makes me sick that, if I were a professional, I'd be doing that all day. How a shoulder on shoulder barge can be punished when he clearly was looking for possession* of the ball is stupid.
*I mean no malice, and no danger, and keeper would have gathered anyway.

It's a contradictory rule if the foul is in the box. It's a red card if it stops a clear goal scoring opportunity. Well it hasn't cos Newcastle are awarded a penalty which is as clear a goal scoring opportunity there is.

Very poor decision Footie will be a non contact sport sooner rather than later. Wengers is waiting for that day.

Bloody glad we don't have Caldwell as a defender, he is gash.
Red card looming for the big oaf.

Ref lost his bottle to a big crowd. Always Easier to give those sort of decisions against a Wigan. If it was Man U Ba would have been booked for simulation.

I don't even think it was a foul, however the ref obviously did and he can't make decisions on the basis that people want to see a decent game.

The decision was a poor one with virtually no common sense applied. He was very amatuerish reacting to the crowd and the theatrics from the striker.
What is even more sickening is the sanctimonious media yes man-whore Letissier (spelling) agreeing with the decision. Wanker!

Very Poor Indeed
Ba was not even in control of the ball or do I think he even touched it from the 1:2.
Ref should check for Frilly Knickers and Lippy first then make the call.
