A big question, I know but one that I wanted to ask.
Some will no doubt say that being born here is why etc but can you add a bit more to this? With all the ups and downs throught out the seasons, what keeps you going!? have you supported them for many years? did a family member love the club (or hate them) and hence your interest? What are you best and even, worst memories of following the club?
No silly answers, please.

Went with my elder brother for the first time during the 'Mills out' season. Despite the shocking football, standing on the old Boothen got me hooked.

all my family (mum, dad, aunts, uncles etc) were born and bred in Stoke so used to go visit my grandparents every weekend up there and drop my dad off at the Vic on the way as was a lifelong Stokie.when we got to about 5 he started taking me and my brothers and i've been hooked ever since (although my brothers are now Spurs and Liverpool fans...turncoats!!).
31 years and counting!

do you miss the old Victoria ground? what's on the site now? I know that in Swansea, where the Vetch Field once stood, it is now...a public park. Seems odd looking at it now after remembering the ground etc.

It in the blood. My Grandad was a season Ticket Adult owner for 40 years and stood on the terraces during his childhood. Every week stoke city were bloody crap and he was never going again. come two weeks later, he was back. My grandad was a character and lived the emotional side. He would finish work on saturday in stafford at 12.30 and there was always the excitement/drama of getting to the match on time. My dad supports stoke city. I now live in Devon and still live the drama of getting to stoke on Trent in time. I cant help it.

I was bread to be a stokie.
Owd man's followed them since he was young, so when i was born, in Stoke i was instantly surrounded by "stoke things" taken to matches when i came of a certain age, loved it and it grew from there...

O.K. My Dad & Uncle first took me down in the Early 60's when we were in the old Division Two and before Stan returned. Went the occasional match until I started going, with my youger brother, every home game from 68/69 onwards. When Season Tickets in the Boothen first became available in, I think, 72/73 or 73/74 , we both got one (even though at that time the Boothen was over 18's only and my brother was only 16) and have had then ever since. I now live in Stockport and my Brother in Merseyside. My Son, from Nottingham, has a Season Ticket and my Brother's Son & Daughter also share a Season Ticket.
There is no other option!!

I get the feeling I'm gonna regret this. The first game I went to was a Vale match, with my Uncle and Cousin in a box. It was semi-decent at best as a whole, and it was a day out that was all. No one else in my family bothered with football, and so it was the best I could hope for at the time. Then, my best mate at the time offered me a Stoke ticket with him and his dad, and it was the best experience ever. Stoke 3 - 2 Sheffield Wednesday, December 2002. Went ahead 3 times, Iwelumo twice and Gunnarsson once scoring. Even though I can't make the majority of games because of uni, I watch every game and cheer us on! I love defending us against opposition fans who think we're terrible too.

My Grandad and Uncle (my owd man dunner like football for some strange reason) took me the first season back in the old First Division in 63/64 and I 've been in love with everything Stoke City FC ever since, simple as.
50 years on and my love for Stoke City is just as strong. There is nothing, absolutely nothing, better than following Stoke as far as I'm concerned. I will love Stoke City to my last breath.
Now I have the pleasure of watching my son becoming just as fanatical as I am.
It was my birthday Saturday, best present I had was me and the lad going mental with 2,500 other Stoke fans when Deano scored and coming away from West Brom with another 3 points.
Goooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrnnnnnnnnnnnnn Stoke!

Born and bred in Fletcher rd.just across the road from the Victoria ground,my Dad, Older Brothers and Uncles went to the home games,Before I was old enough to go,I could hear the crowd on match days, and could see part of the pitch from our attic window before they built the new Boothen stand. So I was born with Stoke City blood running threw my veins,my first game was against Huddersfield in 1962 when we were in the old 2nd. Div. 50 Years and still counting,I just hope we can win more than one big trophy in the next 50 years. ;D

The values, the football, the atmosphere. Always enjoyed playing but never really followed one team until I saw Stoke on tele a few years ago and the noise and atmos drew me in. Mate lives in Stoke and said I should visit The Brit so drove up to see us vs QPR last season and met TP. Totally hooked now. Love the style of football and the defensive way we play. Me mate, who came up with me, is also an avid fan now too.

Watching on TV as a kid and hassled my Dad to take me to a game. He was a Utd fan and season ticket holder and no one else in my family supported Stoke
