Always one of the fixtures I look forward to.
A trip down memory lane for you - halicion days under Lou Macari - went to both of these (some 8k away fans at WBA for the return game - total of 30k for a Division 2 (as was - third tier) fixture!
Home game 4-3 win, classic game, Barry fecking Siddall in goal I think, Cranny with the winner, Rooster getting 2
Away game 2-1 win, 30k at the Hawthorns, I was 18/19, drove a car full of mates down, ace day out - was packed! Was stood by the pylon.
Am taking my boy to his first 'real' away game a week on Sat (Wembley apart twice!) for his 11th birthday, am looking forward to it (he doesnt know) - they are in form, we havent won away since January - none of that ever (ever!) mattered for the past 30 years! Lets just hope last seasons home game was a blip.
Only downer we have just spent all morning at A&E as he has a double fracture of his ankle playing football at school!

I preferred the 6-0 in '88.
Maybe if we beat you then Pulis could be sacked.

"We almost always beat the baggies" doesn't have the same ring to it, either way i'll be there, will be tough this year but fingers crossed we'll get something out of it!

The goalkeeper in the 4-3 game was Tony Parkes.
He was shit.

What a following and what days! Couple of things just come back to me there, when we were stuck in traffic on the way we saw a group of stokies in a minibus, west brom fans ran out a pub and completly trashed the bus but my god did the stoke fans on the bus give it them back. The funny thing was driving back after the Match we passed the bus with all it's windows put through with all the blokes looking freezing.
The other thing is just listen to that Delilah!! Not rushed I can make out every single word! Plus all in unison! Why we rush the songs these days I'll never know

Tony Parkes, feck me.
We had some shite keepers on and off, Ronnie & Foxy were the best 2
Think Lou wouldnt pick Foxy because he was due a big bonus for 450 appearances?
I met Peter Fox a few times as a kid, was always approachable and very chatty. In his pomp (82ish?) should have got a cap, but with Shilton, Clemence, Bailey around he didnt stand a chance.

Ronnie Sinclair was absolutely shit!
Thankfully the rest of the team was so good, we didn't really need a goalkeeper.

Defo need to get behind the lads at this one. Im sure we can drown out the Albion fans if we sell out on this one. I cant wait for this one.

2010 2 penalties in a 3-0 win. Therefore I would play KJ matty and walters tomorrow ,as the west brom may being having a good season ,but the lads who played that day completely rattled them

Barry Siddall at that age we would have conceded 13. Was the equally useless Tony Parkes. His pass to Bob Taylor for one of their goals was inch perfect.
