we can't effect anything. Just expect a banker away win and anything else is a bonus.
Let's focus on what we can control - Saturday 5.15pm onwards.
I fully expect their players, manager and supporters to be talking about the Stoke support for weeks to come, don't you? Just remember the impression 'delilah' left on them after 35K sung it at Wembley. Pound for pound we are still vocally capable of being the best support in this country. Saturday will show that.
Another Gillingham play-off atmosphere is required - as is a 24K crowd. Anyone else getting that knotted stomach feeling just by thinking about Saturday?

I've just opened your thread, as Hull have gone 2-0 up, to try and make me feel better.

It's quite easy to get hung up on this evenings games when Hull and WBA's goal difference is so superior to ours that being level on points with either of them is just pointless. Still, when Saturday comes and if we're 3rd in the table I'll still be singing at the top of my lungs, roaring the mighty Potters to victory. Let's hope the others around us fuck up...

I think my owd man is retarded! He is sitting in front of the TV professing to everyone who will listen that its the play-offs for Stoke because Hull and WBA are winning!! We needed 3 wins to go up - we still need three wins to go up. There is no way - and I am willing to bet the first punter £50 - that Hull will win their remaining 3 games! Heads gone.

How do you work that out Mark? By my reckoning, if WBA and Hull go above us today, if they win all of their remaining games, and we do too, we don't have a chance.
Am I missing something?

don't worry. there are still 3 games left, 9 points to be gained, and certainly more twists left in this season yet. we could have a clearer picture come saturday night, if watford lose and we beat bristol it will be a three horse race, whereas if the baggy scum lose and others win it is wide open again. keep believing stoke will do it, it really is in our own hands regardless of other results tonight.

all we can do is win our games... nothing more, nothing less.
if we finish 3rd, we finish 3rd.

Hull's goal difference does look to be uncatchable now.
Shame they got all the momentum from that ridiculously rash tackle from that fool of a centre-half.

Quite right
Two sides to every story
If Hull and Brazil win tonight and get anything on Saturday, then we MUST go into Saturdays game with a positive attitude.
That can work in our favour. Beat Brizzle and they are out of contention. Watford cant catch us if we keep on winning, so its any 2 from 3 and we have the easier? run in still.

TP has fucked it for us - especially against Palace. Hope I'm very wrong. It really was the 'must win' game that truly was must win.

I can actually see a positive for wolves losing.
If you look at the remaining fixtures, its important that Crystal Palace, Ipswich, and Sheff Utd (more of a long shot but they are on an excellent run) all have alot to play for. We didn't really want wolves to shore up that last playoff place

Mrmagic. Were in a 3 game season, we've got 2 home games and an away game left, all very winnable. Hull have got to play Sheff utd away, Palace at home and finish off at Ipswich away. You'd have a hard job picking 3 tougher games to finish the season off. West Brom have got to play Norwich away, Saints at home and QPR away, not as tough as Hull's but there are two potential banana skins there. I firmly believe if we win all 3 we'll go up. The way this league has played out 2 wins and a draw might even be enough. One thing we all must be is extremely positive and make sure that mood comes across on the pitch for our remaining games. WE CAN DO IT AND WE WILL

When you think about it, is ours actually any easier?
It's going to be hard to chisel out any results anywhere at this stage of the season, and whether teams get 1 or 9 pts over such a short sample of games is now almost a lottery.
All it takes is a set-piece goal against you in the first 10 minutes in any game, and it's mountain to climb time, especially when fear of failure means both teams are completely shitting it.
And it's not as if we've got to play any mid-table 'on the beach' teams. We have got 2 teams likely to be as motivated as it's possible to be at home, as well as a team playing their last ever game at their home ground in front of a sell-out.
I think the level of difficulty involved in getting a win anywhere, and against almost anyone whether it's home or away, at this stage, is pretty much the same.

You are bang on. What real motivation have QPR, Sheff Utd got to win ? We have Bristol (NOT easy and Leicester (desperate for points). Im glad that Ipswich beat Norwich on Sunday as that means Ipswich can still make the Play Off's and Notwich still need points for safety.
The only certain thing is nothings certain !!

I'm not reading any papers, watching any TV or switching on any media of any kind (except Pottermouths battle cry) until Saturday at 5.20. Sod em all. 3 cup finals to go, 3 wins and it happens.
