... without Ryan and Huth?
Both were immense again today.
All doom and gloom on here at the moment but we should celebrate the fact we have one of the best central defensive partnerships in the Prem.
Ryan makes it look too easy at times. Always in the right place. This season he's starting to act like more of a leader too.
No chance of relegation with those two at the back.

Not just that Phil, the whole back 4 were tremendous. The fact is we go to see our team score goals not defend. The defence are notoriously the unsung heroes. The doom and gloom comes from our manager not being able to create an attacking mindset even at home. H

Often looks out of his depth on the ball but he did a great job on Hoilett. I still genuinely enjoy the fact that we don't concede shitty goals like the Stoke I knew growing up. Not quite as exciting as watching good attacking football but it's comforting to know that everytime the ball goes into the box either Ryan or Huth will win it.

Once Wilko and Cameron swapped sides I thought we defended superbly.
Defending is our strength and it has seldom looked better, in spite of the dreary Doras predicting calamity today.

If Rednapp was manager? Top ten at least.

I think apart from the odd dalliance into twattery from our manager, ie- Huth at right back to shoehorn in Woodgate in, our defence has never really been the problem.

If Rednapp was manager? Top ten at least. Like Pompey??? Redknapp would have us out of business before 2015.

If Rednapp was manager? Top ten at least. Possibly... but look at the mess he left Pompey in. Also got Southampton and Wet Sham relegated. He would also most definitely fuck off as soon as a bigger club came knocking.

Defence has always been solid head on like they came at us today. Sadly we still struggle to pick our man up on crosses and set pieces which leads to most our goals.
Overall though solid defence but sadly 27k people don't go home games to watch us defend for 90 minutes.
It's no exaggeration that without them two at the back we would be looking at plying our trade in the league below.
