Randomly decided to take a look at the odds for Stokes next manager to see the kind of names we'd be linked to if TP was to get the chop. Quite bizarrely Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer is favourite for the job followed by Roberto Martinez (far more logical choice). With Holloway in 3rd place. Take a look for yourselves. Note Redknapp nowhere near the top. www.thesackrace.com/teams/stoke-cityWhilst I wouldnt necessarily like to see TP sacked...it would be interesting to see what a Martinez or a Holloway would do with our current squad and what starting xi they would put out. All pretty irrelevant mind as TP is here for a while yet I think.

well bar a few exceptions the names on that list are a plethora of wank, and a good indication as to why we are better off with Tone for the time being!

of that list I'd only take:-
Ole Gunnar - apparantly doing great job in Norway, does give that unknown excitement Martinez - still undecided on him, he's been very fortunate to go on two good runs near the end of the last two seasons. Rafa - would never happen Harry Redknapp - cant see this one either, but would love him here Freedman - done a great job at palace, Bolton is the iron test for him now though, jurys still out Poyet - see freedman, still unproven but has been doing well at Brighton
i said it on another thread the other day, if Pulis were to go (longshot i know) i'd like to see steve bould given a go

PC isn't interested in the list; who pays the piper etc. So it's TP whether we like it or not .... Unless there's someone out there that will buy SCFC & PC will sell?

Who do you expect would be on a list of potential Stoke managers? Sir Alex, Mourinho etc? Theres some pretty good names on the list along with some absolute stinkers. If we appointed Megson or Bruce I think i'd give up. If, however, we appointed someone with the intention of changing our style, then Martinez or Holloway would be an interesting shout. Obviously Redknapp would be the obvious favourite for fans...but whether he'd fancy managing Stoke is another question altogether.

No Kempy Kempo on that list? Its not uncommon for assistant managers to get the job or at least be considered.

Steve cotterill 33/1 That's got to be worth 50p of anyone's money Surely a debt free premier league club , with decent backing and a reputation for holding on to a manager, could attract somebody decent

Excuse my ignorance but who the fuck is Karl Robinson??? MK Dons. Bright young manager without any significant pedigree or experience. Definitely one for the list but would be a huge gamble, if the club were willing to take such a gamble why not give Bouldy a crack at it, if he fancied it.

Our next manager won't even be on that list. Pulis is here for a few years yet, by which time those names will be re-employed, retired or dead.

Too right, Pulis is suffocating my enthusiasm for the game but some of the names on the list would completely finish it off. I'd like the type of manager you seem to favour. I know there'd be no guarantee it wouldn't go horribly wrong but personally think it would be worth the gamble as season after season of the current mindnumbing dross is painfull to contemplate.

Here's a question - Pulis gets us to 14th this season and quits whilst he's (relatively) ahead. We bring in a new manager who plays 'attractive', attacking and positive football - for 2 years running we finish about the same - lurking around the bottom half. You've seen more positive, attacking football but results are no better overall. Are you any happier? (This isn't a loaded question by the way, i'm neither a rimmer or a PHW - i'm just interested).
