It's pretty obvious to see that we lack any pace in the attacking areas. Crouch, Walters, Kightly & Adam seem to have been picked as our attacking threats.
Crouch as a lone striker is just lunacy. At Spurs he had people getting up in support of him, where as for us he is just so isolated. As soon as Kenwyne came on today and gave him support and I thought we looked much better. He has to play upfront with a partner.
Walters & Kightly do not have the attributes for the style of play we are attempting. They are one paced & do not have the ability to go past a man. They both give the ball away too easily and I can count on one hand the amount of decent crosses they have put in. It says something when we are crying out for Etherington who has had a poor 12 months.
Adam is not working in the advanced midfield role/deep striker. Once again, not mobile enough and lacking any pace. Quite simply we need to play him deeper like when he came on against Wigan for his debut.
Our front four players are all playing in roles that don't suit them and it really is showing. It's like we are trying to shoehorn players into a system instead of playing a system that suits what we've got.
Begovic Cameron Huth Shawcross Wilko Kightly N'Zonzi Whelan Etherington Jones Crouch
I think Kenwyne deserves a chance next week, two wingers playing on their strongest side getting in lots of crosses to the front two.
Not the perfect team, but I think it may play to our strengths and hopefully get us 3 points.

What about JP from the start with CJ comming on later in the game to inject the pace we require he scores a few when used as a sub if last season is anything to go on, Kightly is to predictable one paced and talentless, Walters is just fuckin toss end of.

I have absolutely no idea what Tone is upto and I'm rapidly losing faith in him.

It is hard to see what he's trying to do.
The set-up of the isolated Crouch, the Slow Brothers on the flanks and the misused Adam is so counterintuitive that if you didn't know better, it's almost like he's setting us up to fail in a Brewster's Millions type scenario.

The worrying thing for me is that I'm not sure Tone thanks that there is too much wrong with it judging by him post match interview.
The brains trust (Pulis, Kemp, O'connor & Pennock) need their heads banging together and sort it out.
Hopefully one of them has the balls not to be a yes man and suggest a few things.

We have no outlets, crouch up front on his own does not work and never will work, we hoof the ball to him and even if somehow he manages to control it he ends up being surrounded by 3 opposition players because our midfielders are too reluctant to go forward
Something needs to change, going to places like Norwich and playing for a win would be a good start

TP just has one way to play, he has never evolved, he just has more expensive players. He needs to go back to coaching school.
