We will never know the full reason will we? As jester and wardrobe monster say above, things may be a bit tight and he doesn't want to tell people at work about it. If I know I'm going to be skint for the next month I don't tell anybody about it. Like I've said, if that's the reason nobody can judge as it is perfectly reasonable. We were asked our opinion by the OP based on the fact that it isn't to do with money though.

My experience of watching Stoke on streams reminds me of trying to crack one off by watching porn on dial up. It gets the job done but there is something deeply unsatisfactory about it. Going to the match in comparison is a full on 160MB broadband wankathon. ;D Absolutely. Going to the boozer beforehand; the anticipation during the long walk to the ground; ranting at the ref; the banter in the Boothen; the atmosphere when the big clubs are in town; half-time Bovril etc etc. You can't stream that.

Well if your attempts to watch porn on dial-up are anything like my attempts to watch a Stoke match on an internet stream, the "something deeply unsatisfactory" is Garry Birtles' voice. I'd watch dial-up porn with the mute button on in future if I were you.

I'm gutted I live so far away and work shifts what chance I'd give to have a season ticket and watch the lads every home game.
Were spoilt at the moment and like spoilt kids we want too much. Survival is still key.

Did he ask his son? If he didn't then seems a bit twattish. 'Are we going to the match this week dearest Papa?' 'No, and your mother...I'm divorcing her, she's burnt me tea three times this month, I told her, that's it I've had quite enough of your shit, she's dead to you now son, just like Stoke City'

Bit harsh mate. Perhaps he just decided to spend his time doing something more interesting than watching TP's Stoke reach 40 points every season.
I wish I had on Saturday. I could have give the garage a coat of emulsion and sat there with a beer for a couple of hours!

Bit harsh on the (presumably) young lad, unless he's like 16 or something and not bothered, but as Trouserdog says, you can't stream the "occasion" - and that is what me and my "lad" (I say lad - he's 25 FFS !) go for - early train up town, Spoons breakfast, Staff, Kings, taxi, Cricket Club, power-league to the ground and let the result dictate the rest of the day.....wouldn't swap it for a gold clock.....whatever league we are in

Well hes booked 3 days in Lapland with the money to take his young son and wife.
As for his son (17) knowing i did ask this and he was the one who suggested it, because it seems like a chore watching them at the moment.

Can just imagine the conversation as SJW runs up another blind alley. "Fuck this for a game of soldiers dad, lets sell our season tickets and go Lapland for the weekend". Can't argue with the logic.

Today at work I was moaning about how boring the game was when I got asked if I was questioning my loyality.
I said I never would question my loyality just my sanity.

He should have saved the money and stayed here in Stoke.
More chance of spotting 'Reindeer' flying over the incinerator than SJW scoring!

Going to the match in comparison is a full on 160MB broadband wankathon. If you want to make a porn analogy to the current matchday experience, watching Pulisball is like a What The Butler Saw machine. Outdated, overpriced for what you get, not a particularly satisfying experience, and there are far more modern and entertaining alternatives out there these days
