Wot, no custodial sentences for the rest of the Leeds crowd who were congratulating him and patting him on the back!

Considering he was already banned from every ground in England, the sentence should have been longer.

Should get half a year and a permanent ban from football matches or be forced to report to his local station during his teams matches.

Just shows what a mixed up country we live in......
"Man A" swims across the Thames where in all honesty he has every right to do so and spoils oighty toighty boat race but no violence and gets six months
"Man B" runs on a pitch where he has no right to be smacks goalkeeper and gets 16 weeks.
very fair for man A

According to the bbc he had drunk several cans of lager and three quarters of a litre of vodka before arriving in Sheffield and then a further 7 to 10 pints of cider. Amazing he could stand let alone run onto the pitch. Leeds have banned him for life and he has a five year ban from all football grounds in the country - if it can be enforced. Knob.

Given that the average sentence for GBH is only just over 1 year and the average sentence for the lesser charge of ABH is less than a year, I'd say 4-6 months is about right for assault in circumstances like this. I'd have been happier with 6 months but 4 isn't too bad. Seeing that the average cost of keeping a prisoner in prison in the UK is £41k per year - I'm personally glad he didn't get 4 years - it would have cost us taxpayers £82k even if he only served half his sentence. news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8640399.stm

Just what I was going to ask Spitthedog. I'm picturing a wild west style most wanted list on the inside of every away turnstile in the football league.

How does that get enforced? He will have to sign in at his local police station during match time. Sounds the most fool proof method although someone got turfed out of the Brit last year having not been there for years (lifetime ban). How do they clock you amongst 27k people? ???

Photo put on a computer programme and linked to CCTV cameras that scan crowd, you get a match with the system and you are thrown out of the ground.
