Leeds United prepare double signing of Kenwyne Jones & Cameron Jerome to aid promotion drive. #LUFC #SCFC Leeds United have lined up the double signing of Stoke City forwards Kenwyne Jones and Cameron Jerome as part of a push to achieve promotion to the Premier League this season. The pair, both sparingly used by Tony Pulis of late, are expected to sign on loan within the next fortnight with options to turn their moves into full transfers.
The signings, which will significantly add to Leeds' tightly controlled wage bill, are indicative of Leeds majority shareholder Ken Bates' confidence in bringing substantial new investment into the Championship club.

So we're going to let two of our strikers go in the next two weeks with no possibility of getting anyone else in until January? Don't think so

I could see us letting one of them go out on loan but not both of them - for the reasons Sportsman says above. January would be a different matter if we could get suitable replacement(s).

I had the same thought, but we're only really playing Crouchy up top on his own at the moment. Maybe if he got crocked we could recall KJ?

I can see it happening. Ok if crouch gets injured we may need a target man but inthink Walters could fill that roll if asked

Id be willing to let this happen with recall options, its better them getting game time than none at all if we decide to sell or we decide to bring them back in

We need KJ bench if Crouchy gets injured early on. We could afford to let Jerome go on a recall. I hope Palacios coming on yesterday means he's staying.

I'd let one go but not both.
If Crouch picks up a niggle then Walters to ST, and we'd have to play Shotton RW, or re-call Pennant. If we're allowed.
Jerome has the impact paceyness to throw on but KJ would be better in the role.
To be honest I'd send them Owen to get fit until Jan, getting game time is better than him getting 10mins every week. It's obvious he won't start

Ludicrous if we let both go before Jan. KJ is our only option off the bench. I think 8-10m for the pair would be about right..

KJ was signed for 8m and I'd say he's only just worth about 4/5m Jerome came for something like 3m? I'd say he's probably held that value after showing some very good glimpses, he's 100% too good for the championship. They both are. It also depends how happy they are, if they both want first team football what can we do? 8m would be a good deal.

If Leeds need 2 strikers can't we just give them Mama and transfer Owen's loan agreement to their name?
That way Leeds get 2 new strikers, we cut our wage bill by losing 2 players who won't figure anyway, and we get to keep KJ and CJ both of whom have much to contribute given the chance this season.
Everyone wins... (Except Leeds but don't tell them that!)

If true I think both of them would destroy the championship. Jerome is in my view still a very useful premier league player and its frustrating hes not been given a chance.

Can we loan 3 players to the same club?

would be a shame to send kenwyne out on loan. if crouch needs a rest, he's a good back up in that role. jerome on the other hand is not good enough for stoke city imo.

I hope this isn't true.
Primarily because we shouldn't be spending 12 million on a couple of strikers and then very soon after buying them, then find ourselves having to loan them out to a club in the Championship, in the hope that that club might buy (at a significant loss) them off us.

I cannot see this happening in a million years.
Crouch would only need to get injured and we'd be left with Walters and Owen as our only real options up front.
It isn't going to happen.
If we know anything about Pulis it's that he can never have enough Centre Halves and strikers. He will NOT have a squad with only three strikers in it. He certainly wouldn't entertain it under the present 'set-up' where one of his strikers is playing out wide and another one has a history of hardly playing games because of injuries. We might (though I very much doubt it) let one of them go out on loan but both?..........No chance.

I'm not fussed if Jerome goes, but it seems foolish to allow Jones to pass by and leave us with no spare target man in our squad.

If we can get some money for KJ all well and good as he will never do Stoke any good!

I guess the key would be Mama. If there is a chance he can get fit enough to play for us then I'm pretty confident TP would let KJ go and I think Owen will feature above Jerome.

I think we need both as options on the bench. KJ as a natural replacement for Crouch and CJ if we need a headless chicken for 10 minutes.
