Didnt realise how close it was at the match, but how they didn't give the corner is beyond me.
All the players were waiting for it to be taken apart from the ref and liner.
Mind you our defending was poop today huth and Ryan looked all over the shop.

Deflected off the line to stop it going in the net.

A slight glimpse of what he can do. Thought he looked pretty sharp and up for the challenge. Time to phase him into the side and to phase Walters out.

Walters is playing wide right and you can't play Owen there! Moving to 442 risks making Adam and nzonzi vulnerable in the middle plus who plays on the right?

Very unlucky not to score
That's what Owen is all about, finding that bit of space in the box & putting the ball on target
He will score goals if fit

Can't see where pulis will make room for him in the starting 11 to be honest. Be nice to see ethers playing giving us a bit more balance and two wingers, but then you either lose a defender and player 3-5-2 or lose a central midfielder and play 4-4-2. Owen needs more than 10 mins to make an impact and I can see him having a good chance of getting a few goals with the upcoming fixtures

That ball was on its way into the net - definitely. A lucky break for United just like the ball dropping to Rooney, could have dropped anywhere. Walters should have scored early on but took the wrong choice he should have tucked it into the right of De Gere instead of going across him. Stoke then 2-0 up and could have been such a different result. Own showed that goal poacher instinct. Worth another 20 minutes any day of the week.

Why do people keep criticising our centre halves?
To me, given the appalling showing from both full-backs, it seemed to me like they had their work cut out in having to cover all of Manure's attacking threat on their own.

To me, given the appalling showing from both full-backs, it seemed to me like they had their work cut out in having to cover all of Manure's attacking threat on their own. It's a fair point mate but doesn't explain why Ryan missed an easy header to prevent the first goal and then fail to move three steps with Van Persie which left him alone three yards from goal for the second. I agree with the fact that the full backs were run ragged a bit but neither Ryan nor Huth played very well IMO. BTW: I don't think we should be conducting a witch hunt on our defenders. The team performance was a marked improvement on our usual visits to OT (despite the score) and I'd rather see this outcome than an 11 man defence getting beaten 1 - 0. Poor goals to let in but (maybe I'm easily satisfied) I'm fairly happy with how we played.
