if Jones and Smalling are back by then then i would expect them to be the fringe players in Ryan's position...not that i agree but i think that's how Woy will see it...even Caulker is probably ahead of Ryan in the pecking order

Caulker might also be available if the U-21s aren't playing

Honestly, I don't think he'll get a look in. Jones and Smalling will be back by then, so he'll have those two in his squad along with Lescott and Jagielka.

I totally agree that if he is going to get a look in , then this is the game over the others that he should get at least a half. That said we are talking about Hodgson who is a myopic self serving cock wrench, so I won't be holding my breath.

I've not seen anything from smalling that suggests he's any better than Ryan at all and jones in my opinion is a cm.

It will be Jagielka and Lescott. Thats Hodgsons view of tinkering around a bit.

in order for ryan to become an england regular he will have to play regulary for a champions league team or at worst a tottenham or liverpool
not many england regulars (goalkeepers aside) over the last few years have broken that mould and i would expect that to continue in the future.
the danger for us is that he will have to move to achieve this
the danger for ryan is he will have to do this soon to avoid being overtaken by bertrand, caulker, jones, cahill and smalling and any other promising youngsters coming through at the big teams

His England debut totally depends on when he signs for Manchester United or AN Other top five side.
