Had he not made that mistake he could have had a very good career.
It was exceedingly odd. Announcement on SCFC webssite at midnight. It wasn't very articulate and I wondered if hackers had got into it having a laugh.

I don't hold a grudge now. The contrasting fortunes speak for themselves.

Was in gran canaria on a family holiday when it happened. Heard some bloke mention it but we thought he was taking the piss and had just seen us in our stoke tops. Needless to say curiosity got the better of us and we legged it back to the hotel alot earlier than usual, put ssn on and it wad going across the yellow bar, put a rate downer on what was a quality holiday. Still, we had the last laugh Sent from my GT-I9300 using proboards

Was at a petrol station in Piotrkow Trybunalski Poland when I first heard the news. Absolutely staggered that anyone could be such a chancer and so shallow as who has since become known as 'the Jug-earred twat', 'Quiterall' and 'the Quitter'.
Funny how that in a very occasions you can remember where you were when you first heard the news such as the JFK and Princess Di murders. Hearing news of the Quitters resignation falls into that category for me. One of the very few people I genuinely hope bad things happen to.

It was the fact that the announcement on the Official Site was not articulate which convinced me that the story was true! If it had been well written, I would have assumed it was fake! ;D

Do remember him being interviewed on tele and him saying how he was leaving us as an established Div One team as if trying to justify his quitting. We were lying 16th on 14 points after 12 games, so hardly established. After he quit we went on a run of 8 straight defeats leaving us in 22nd place and 2 points off the bottom. On Boxing Day we were still 22nd but now 6 points adrift of safety. Then on 22nd Feb, following a disastrous 6-0 defeat to Forest we went bottom. TP then battened down the hatches to lead us to safety with 25 points from the last 14 games culminating with the famous last game at home to Reading when we escaped relegation with 1-0 win?

He rocked up at ground, parked the club car and locked the keys in boot and fucked off.
I assume wilkinson tapped him up whilst doing badges the previous summer

I've got the 2002-23 season dvd and you can see whenever he was interviewed he looked away from the camera and looked totally disinterested. He always was and will be a w___er

So we're now 18 days from TP's tenth anniversary as Stoke manager - or is it technically ninth?

Boxing Day will be the anniversary of the first Pulis win! ;D
Thing is the year before Sven took over England and blew a fuse when he saw Wilkinson involved. He instructed that the dinosaur's contract must not be renewed. Wilkinson got wind of that so presented himself to Sunderland when the job became available. The chairman foolishly embraced Wilkson's offer, Judas went North east and down they went.
ANYWAY, the thing is, why didn't Cotterill grasp that his mentor was out of date out of fashion and a spent force? He took a demotion to work with him.
