There's a reason why we don't play him in midfield alongside Nzonzi chaps.

In the current system the only place he can play is where he's currently playing. Otherwise, we'll have to go to a genuine three man midfield with Adam playing deeper than he currently is but still just ahead of two defensive midfielders.

Didn't Adam put a perfect cross in for Fletcher to score a fine goal only for the prick of a linesman to chlk it off for absolutely no reason? Just saying.

Here we go. People over analizing the game. Let them get on with it and don't look too deep into systems. It can confuse the simple ones when they try look to deep

Why aren't we playing Walters, a striker, up front and Adam, a midfielder, alongside Nzonzi if it doesn't matter and you just have to "let them get on with it?" Why don't we play full backs and have two midfielders playing there instead?

Walters having another pointless 90mins aswell of huff and puff! Pure wank again. Not sure what you're on about here. Ireland haven't yet remembered how to defend, but when Walters got the ball up front he was generally very good at bringing it into control and passing it off. Showed some pretty impressive awareness most of the time, and generally had a fairly good game despite the team in general not really managing to click. Wasn't that much huffing and puffing either, he didn't have the same defensive functions as at Stoke and most of his play consisted of getting the ball and passing into space for others, which he did well.

No idea what you base your assumption on I thought at home to Swansea he showed he had a trick and a surprising turn of acceleration and that all of our best attacking moves went through him, despite him not being in top gear. I thought in dropping deep and pushing forward alternately against Citeh he added an extra dimension to our forward play as well, and despite being awful fist half against Chelsea his influence was starting to grow when he was taken off. He's going to frustrate and excite in equal measure, but he's going to add some creativity and help us to become more fluid well, if we don't ruin him.

Fair view - but that therefore highlights the barren nature of our midfield to date. If you take the Adam of the Blackpool era, then what Liverpool had and what we have is a poor shadow of - hence we are reduced to recalling moments in odd games.

Charlie Adam is just what we need and he needs time to bed in.
To drop him would be insane........he has played 5 games away at Chelsea Liverpool and Wigan and at home to Man City and Swansea.
He will probably again struggle on Saturday given the opposition so lets cut some slack eh ?
We know how cautious Pulis sets up against certain teams so thats 4 out of 6 games where we will not see the best of Charlie Adam
His like in a Stoke is a breath of fresh air

It's still very early days, very harsh to judge him too harshly at this stage, especially since we don't play his way. We do have to be thankful for any signs of creativity so when we show some I think you have to be encouraged and look to build on it. Poor showing at Liverpool apart, Nzonzi has been the real revelation in the middle.

I don't think Adam will ever 'look fit', he just has that kind of hang dog appearance that means he will never look bright as a button. I suppose the sort of sophisticated tests we do on the players these days will tell us if he is actually fit or not. I'd love to know...
