I've always been tempted to buy one of them, but are they big enough for the house spiders? Don't their legs get caught in the sliding door thing as well? It's now above the door to the stairs, meaning I can't go upstairs without it probably dropping on me! The bastard

Leave the house immediately. Look for the nearest safe haven, i.e. your local. Do not return home until after the spider as been pronounced dead. Good luck.

Get a Primrose spider repeller, plug it in the wall and turn it on. It sends out electromagnetic pulses and a frequency designed to mess with their heads and gives them the spider-equivalent of diarrhea and vomiting. We've only seen three spiders in the past three years where as before there would be dozens of them every September. You just need to be careful if you have any gerbils, because it fucks them up too.

Conquers placed stategically around skirting boards, window sills etc will keep them away. Been using this method for years and it definitely works.

It's gone at last! A glass and a bit of paper and it was sorted! I was making sure the chair was between me and the mrs while she did it and that the door was open so i could flee in case she happened to drop it or in case she started pretending to lob it at me like she's done in the past The ruddy thing was jumping in the glass! I hate spiders!

They are dangerous.. to other insects. Their teeth are too small to penetrate human skin. So you're safe

What we know as Daddy Long Legs aren't dangerous at all... they're simply crane flies, which just bob about a bit fairly uselessly and then die pretty sharpish.
The rumour about deadly daddy long legs comes from the American term, where "Daddy long legs" refers to a type of US spider, which is venemous (but I don't think it has the potential to bite a human and I think the venom is on the same level as a wasp sting anyway). We don't get them over here.

There is a chuffing big one on my ceiling right now which looks a lot like that one ^ ^ ^ I can't go near spiders and it's one of those bigger ones which fight the suction from the hoover and you worry they'll somehow climb back out of the pipe Be a man the mrs says, it's more scared of me than i am of it she says Just because she's got nerves of steel when it comes to creepy crawlies She doesn't get home until this evening as well That thing is shelob from lord of the rings.

I was always told that Spiders don't bite. That is a myth I'm afraid. One bit me in the Greenhouse last summer and my hand swelled up so bad that I had to go to hospital .
