Thought there might be more about Stoke than Man Utd to be honest. Whose interview was that?

Thought there might be more about Stoke than Man Utd to be honest. Whose interview was that? In a way though, Momo, it's good to hear about his past few years from his perspective. We hear all the bullshit about how satisfied he is to bench a wage but I still detect there's a hunger there and, if fit, I think he'll be very good for the club. I'm genuinely excited at the prospect of Crouch and Owen in Stoke shirts. I hope they can roll back the years and give us a landmark mental on Saturday...

Yeah despite the final year being a bit of a disaster, a Champs League hat trick, a cup final goal and that derby goal aren't too shabby are they. Like you looking forward to seeing him in some sort of tandem with Crouch but think that will be after the next International break not Sat, to be honest.

I hope they can roll back the years and give us a landmark mental on Saturday... not convinced he'll plat given what TP says on the OS (underlined bit being most relevant) “He’s come back a lot fitter than we thought he would, but it’s too early to say whether he can play straight away,” said City’s manager in his pre-match press conference at the Club’s Clayton Wood Training Ground on Thursday morning. “There are plenty of games to go yet. We’ve got to gauge it over the next couple of weeks. We’ll try and get him involved if we can – he wants to play, but he’s like every player you work with; they want to play and Michael’s no different.”

He's not here to create goals ... he's here to score them! ;D 5 goals in the PL since 2009 Michael Owen: 3 goals in 4 appearances last season (0.75) Jon Walters: 12 goals in 60 appearances last season (0.2) Michael Owen: 5 goals in 17 appearances season before (0.3) Jon Walters: 12 goals in 49 appearances season before (0.25) Michael Owen - Free Jon Walters - £2.75m When you think Jon has had mainly 90+ minutes and Michael Owen has been mainly from the bench in all of those games too......

Well I can't wait for that unmitigated disaster We all know Pulis likes to play big man, small man upfront and if we are going in terms of quality and natural ability then there is no SJW role swanseastokie, there is Owen role I'm unsure how you can be displeased at Stoke signing on a free arguably one of the most natural goalscorers in English football over the past 20 years And, if we only use him as an impact sub for the last 20 minutes, would you rather Cameron Jerome come off the bench than Owen? Going back only a handful of years we had Akinbiyi, Lightbourne, Noel-Williams just to name a few and we have Peter Crouch and Michael Owen in a Stoke shirt!

Okay, okay - Tall man, Taller man In fairness, when we have two tall strikers on the field, we do kind-of adopt a 4-4-1-1 formation with on of the strikers flicking it on That's certainly how we played with Noel-Williams nodding it on to Akinbiyi and Sidibie to Fuller

Like Rob said what big/little man combo do you speak of? Where is Owen going to play, what role will he fulfill, whats gives you confidence he'll stay injury free, will he play off/behind Crouch, how any goals will he score given his recent record/ will he start. Haven't heard any answers to those questions yet.

And I'm afraid the only person who can give you an answer to where he is going to play is TP The pseudo 4-4-1-1 role was to accomodate having no midfield and the withdrawn striker role being used to link the play between the defense and attack Now we have a midfield with creativity we do not need to play the withdrawn striker role so proper service to an Owen / Crouch partnership will without doubt result in goals would you not agree?

England taught us that at the Euros. So no, I don't agree.
