Apart from the game and the always enjoyable socialising with football folk, such trips are always an experience, but too often for count-your- blessings reasons.
I wonder if such an impoverished country has improved any? When I went, in 1996 (young Beckham's first cap) there was only one female loo in the airport and that was a hole in the ground (I kid you not) and, when we asked for a toilet, when the coach stopped, the steward pointed to a field!
All part of life's rich pattern .........

All part of life's rich pattern ......... [/quote The country certainly has improved. The ground, however, not so. It is the first time i have ever seen only 1 entrance to the ground for both home and away fans. The crushing to get in was a little concerning. Also the police looked like they wanted england fans to kick off so they could get stuck in. 1500 officers on duty for a match at a ground of 10000 where the only visible signs of any trouble during the day was a drunken bristol rovers fan who decided to try and fight other england fans and throw chairs etc. And that was curbed within 2 minutes. Next to poland... now who knows what to expect there !!
